Hey Guys,
i figured i would share my build with you. It's basically a single seat buggy made to look like a truggy/buggy/etc but, the size of a trophy kart. Wasn't sure where to put this thread... so, if it needs to be moved, Mods, please feel free.
the design: i designed it in google sketchup... and it's pretty close to what i designed. i had to make some changes along the way for comfort(it was too small).
the girl in the picture was the first model i came to when wanting something for size reference... she is 5 foot 6 inches tall.
Specs:
tubing: 1 inch .120 wall DOM Height: 50 inches width: frame is 35 inches and tire width is 58 inches ground clearance: 10-11 inches motor: predator 500 rated around 45hp +/- front travel: 11 inches rear travel: 11 or 12 inches
on to the goods... summary of build to date:
the start of the frame:
front of frame:
rear of frame:
so... i'll fast forward to recent build pics.
front suspension(still have some tweeking to do b/c i will be using different shocks)/steering/dash/lights finished:
Seat/gas pedal/Shifter finished:
rear spool and engine mounting almost finished mounting:
rear suspension almost finished:
rear suspension mounted along with side plastics:
and i figured i would share one pic for size reference... this was the engine donor:
well, that's it. thanks for looking.

It doesn't seem that long ago I remember you saying you wanted to learn to weld. Now look at you!!

thanks Blu. yeah, i didn't even get to enjoy that one before it was stolen Craig... so, i built another one. instead of using a pull start and a regular clutch, i decided to give this one electric start and a Torq converter. it's been 'almost finished' for quite awhile... just need to paint it.
here's a couple of pics:
and here is a video of my first ride on the little thing(beer was involved)... lol :
both of the campground cruisers were fun little projects. gave me experience with bending and welding, which is what i wanted.
oh, and the boss and i are driving up to NC to pick up a 13 White Teryx4 this weekend. after we both test drove a couple... we decided on this one. of course, 'i just had to have white' as my wife put it... hence the drive to NC. :)
