Yea Scott, they say don't RAM it (it will break), DODGE it (don't buy it)!!!!!! I have 140,000 on my work Dakota. It runs almost all day, once I make to the field, so there is a lot more idle time to add to the mileage. No big issues yet, but rust on the rear fender. They fixed that last year. Still waiting on a new F150 replacement that has been ordered for months now.

| I drank the dodge kool aid twice, got screwed twice, never again. at least the last time I contacted the state and got dodge to buy it back under the lemon law we have in ga. It sucks cause I really like the looks of the big horn pickups. | |

| I know this is a rarity here but all of our 6.0's have done awesome. They got all their maint on time and thats why out dealer says they are doing so well. All of them were 05 and 06's though. I know the 03 and 04's were bad. | |

All the maintenance on my 04 6.0 was done by Ford, on time. They wouldn't take it on trade , said they couldn't sell a 6.0.... they tried to say I had a tuner on it, ended up taking it to a different dealer to get it fixed under warranty. Sold it when it was 3 years old with 60k and took a huge loss on it. I run fuso box trucks in my business and they do very well, but I use them local only.

| My 05 6.0 was my best truck. I miss it. Traded it for a 2012. It brought good money in the trade deal and the dealer sold it fast. I miss that truck. It was a lariat loaded crew cab 4x4. 91,000 miles and NEVER had one issue with it. I do realize that I was on borrowed time with the erg cooler though. If that cooler would of went out, I would of just taken it out and went on about my business. Really miss my 05 6.0. It was an awesome truck. | |

| I think ford has had a better half ton truck out of the big three for a long time. I also think their diesels have better interiors. I really looked hard at a 6.7 before I got my duramax. But they were brand new at the time and I just didn't trust them. You can say number one selling truck brand all you want. But a 6.0 and 6.4 were rolls of the dice. Lots of them if not most of them had major problems with in 100k. My brother N laws 6.4 took a dump about 3 months after I got my duramax. He purchased it brand new had everything done at the dealer all they way down to every oil change. Still ended up with a 6k repair bill with less then 70k miles on his truck. He rarely towed anything. He had a 28' work and play that he pulled maybe half a dozen times a year. I know way more people that have had that kind of luck with a ford diesel then I do people who have had 200k trouble free miles with one.. Talk to chevy diesel guys and other then the emissions crap and a set of injectors at around 100k they are happy. My 2011 2500 has been a great truck. And now that I've gotten rid of the DPF and the DEF I expect it will continue to be a great truck. I figure the odds are in my favor... | |
