Making plans for 2018.

I know we are all starting from different locations, and its is a little ways off but what do yall think about compiling a list of names and phone numbers for everyone. we could set up a group text to keep in touch with each other. also if someone needed assistance along the way you may get lucky and have someone close that could stop and help. I think group texting would be the fastest way to get information to everyone on the road.

Closer to Mid/Late May would work better for those of us with kids in school.

We were there in mid may last year and the weather was great. We only had one hot day.

Anymore thought of when the a group wants to head out that way.

looks like we are planning on going during the 2018 rally on the rocks. (will post the dates as soon as we found out when it will be)

we are planing on staying at Spanish trails campground.

first post updated

rough plans for me.  depending on how my days off fall in line with the rally dates.

same as lst year.
leave on friday before the rally. arrive on sunday evening and get set up in rv park and rest.  monday and tuesday site see, go to national park ect.  wed -sun ride out of spanish trails. monday morning move camp to north end of town and dry camp at least 2 nights. wed or thurs start back home. leaving wed would give me 2 extra travel days to sight see and to get home thurs would give 1 extra day. be back on sun total of 16 days.

may try to get a few more days off work but even i can monica will have to get off also.

hope this gives some ideas/plans for some of you

I don't care what happens , were sill goen , it will be a great time , just like last yr.

We are planning on making this a month long trip. For us right now our plan is take about 5 days to get there and then head to the Grand Canyon for a few days, from there head up to Salt Lake City and visit some friends, then head up to Mount Rushmore before heading home. It looks good on paper but we will see.

I think we are going to make it an EPIC trip this time. Take a week driving out and site see, stop at Taylors Park for a few days, then to MOAB for 10-12 days, then take another week to head home at site see along the way.

Sounds like a great trip.
You could go to the grand canyon before the rally week and that would save you 1 1/2 to 2 days driving. Depending. On how much seat time you want
Its 5-6 hr from moab to grand canyon. Moab to salt Lake is 4 hr. 9-10hr from Grand Canyon to Salt Lake. Would save some driving

Watch that video i posted. Lots of tips for the area from other RVers.
Hard to beat the big 5. The grand canyon is nice and if you have never seen its worth seeing.



They say the north rim of the Canyon is the best.

I will be going to dead horse state park. Little over 30 min from moab

MR AND MRS BAMA JOE are interested in anything out west We have traveled this area extensively (rv) but never have offroaded there We know all the RV parks on the north and South rim been to both sides north side is less visited takes 5 hours to get from the south side to the north (WOW)spent months in Utah Mount Rushmore etc RAZR riding opportunities everywhere in Utah Lots to see and do Count us in PLEASE

Mike Clark said he likes riding in the HOT, DRY desert places like Moab, so he got him a new ride and wants to join you all.
