| Ok. Thank you. On further research. Hey Gimpy this might help you too. I'm going to try The Birt Combs Parkway from 64 out of Winchester to salyerville and catch 460 to 604. It looks mostly 4 lane. On satellite. Unless you see a better way from Lexington down. | |

| Sorry, been building a Gazebo for last 2 days in the heat, along with trimming and other things. I will look into the best route too, tomorrow. I'll call the campground. | |

| I got some directions, that looking on Mapquest, doesn't make sense. I am trying AAA tomorrow. The campground lady said to take I-64 to Pikeville, which doesn't jive. I think she meant to take I-64 to the Mountain Pkwy. to Pikeville, then she said to take 460 out of Pikeville, which you would have to take 119 to get to 460 (might be combo #'s). She said to take 460 to Grundy, go through Grundy to the traffic light at Route 83 on the right (not on left), then go about 2 miles to route 744 (Southern Gap Rd.), then go to the end of Southern Gap Rd. and it is on the left. It doesn't jive with Mapquest??? Any help?? | |

| Google says take I-64 to Bert T. Combs Mountain Pkwy. East KY114E/US-23S staying basically on US-460E, turn right on VA 604, then turn right on Southern Gap Rd. Google does have it highlighted as Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure. | |

| Ok I got the route for big rigs/trailers/RV's today for those coming from the North:
From I-64 through Lexington get off at exit 98 taking the Bert T. Combs Mountain Pkwy E
Get on US-23S/US-460E in Prestonsburg from KY-114E
Continue on KY-114E/Mountain Pkwy. taking a slight right to merge onto US-23/US-460E toward US-460E/Pikeville
Follow US-23S and US-460E through Grundy. You'll pass Hwy. 83 on the left in Grundy so keep going until you see Hwy. 83 on the right. Turn right at the traffic light on Hwy. 83, Lovers Gap Rd.
Follow Hwy. 83 a couple of miles going up the steep incline, stay in the right lane, turn right on Hwy. 744, Southern Gap Rd. (Old Hwy. 718 on most maps).
Follow Hwy. 83, Southern Gap Rd. through Poplar Gap Park and the campground is on your left.

AAA and the campground folks sent me the other route I posted. 604 must be tight, like a good woman. Bush might check that route before we get there. Bush text or call us if you try 604 and it is good.
