| I found this last month about a mile from my house where I ride the rhino. I have spent many hours trying to find a whole one. Its a molar from a Petalodus SP, shark believed to be from 375 million years ago during the upper Mississipian period. So this area was a shallow sea once apon a time. The north ALabama area has the states oldest fossil beds, (so far). I am told that being here at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains makes this area very special. Any others rock hounds out there? | |
