| Just curious Bush, is this the first time you had this apart, and if so how much grease was still in there? | |

| i think its is 4th time i have had it apart. in the last pic i had cleaned as much grease that i could out of the sheave. but the area with the roller weighs still need the grease cleaned out better but the roller weights have been wiped off. just need to get some parts cleaner and clean it up some more. | |

| Thats just plain odd Bush. The sliders kinda snap on the cam-plate but are a little loose sometimes. I really don't think that had anything to do with it. If the cam-plate spun or the sliders fell-out, you would have a real big mess, I would think. |

| Bush, the inner sheave did the same thing to me (and to Tiger Rag) The old part had the spines just part way through it, when you get the new one the splines go all the way through (as it should have been in the first place) As for the sliders, they aren't ever really tight on there, mine just fall off easily when I pull it out of the primary. The nut may have been tight but if it wasn't lined up PERFECT the last time you put it together it could have left enough slop in it to wear those splines out. | the fixed primary stripped back in sept. and was replaced , but that was all i replaced. when i got the new one it had the splines all the way through. the reason it happed back in sept was because i did't get the nut tight because my inpact wrench was f-up and it backed off after 3 months of riding but the only thing that was damaged was the fixed primary. and after i go the part i made sure the washer went up on the splines and got the nut tight. the cam may have been damaged also and i did not notice . i replaced the fixed sheave and have put well over 500 miles on the rhino and pulled some heavy loads of firewood.
i am going to replace the cam-plate and the fixed sheave and put the stock slider sheave back in. do yall think i should go ahead and replace the shaft and the sliders and spacers??? the shaft looks undamaged. | |

| I would say the shaft is fine. The threads on mine got damaged, used a thread file and they have been fine every since. Its hardened so it should be fine, the weak link is the splines on the sheave. | |

| i ordered it before i read that the stock setup is best. the sheave is a great mod but i have read that the stock clutch springs are the best. so i desided not to change. | |

| You don't have to change the spring to change the sheave. The sheave being machined does not make you lose any of your bottom end, it only allows the sheave to "open up" to give you more top speed. I have a machined sheave that I plan on putting in as soon as I get the time. You definitely want to have someone there with you to check your work. It is always better to have two sets of eyes in case you overlook something, IMO. It is a pain to get the sheave lined up on the output shaft, but when you do you will hear a little click and you will know. It will just look and feel right. Torque specs for the nut on the King Quad is 80lb, not sure about the Rhino. I use an impact and be done with it. | |

| I have seen this happen alot of times before bush. Most people make the mistake when putting on there sheave and think they have it tight but when really there tighting it againt the belt instead of haveing it all the way on the shaft. Have had many clutches apart on rhinos all the way down to the internal wet clutches can probably do it with my eyes closed. One more question bush have you ever had the wet clutch out if so when you put the nut on the inside of the wet clutch did you re tap the knock in place on the nut if not this will create the problem you are haveing. Took my apart and didnt see the ding place on the nut and didnt ding it and had the same problem it sound like your haveing | |
