| Is there a cheaper way to ride royal blue other than buying a yearly permit? I believe someone said something about a hunting amd fishing license. | |

| i did a search on google for royal blue and got multiple answers : Starting October 19th, 2002 Royal Blue will officially turn into a "pay to play" area for all Off Road Vehicles. There will be two different pay scales depending on if you area a Tennessee resident or non-resident.
If you are a resident and are legal to hunt in the state of Tennessee you will have to pay nothing additional. If you do not hunt, you will have to pay either a $10 per day fee or have a yearly $50 permit. If you are not a Tennessee resident you will either have to be legal to hunt in Tennessee (out of state hunting license) or pay $25 per day or $160 per year. This area is being looked at as a pilot project to gauge how much revenue future OHV areas in Tennessee could expect to generate.
According to TWRA officials the permits will be available anywhere hunting and fishing licenses are sold. This includes Walmarts and other hunting and fishing supply stores.
For more information on permits contact TWRA.
I would suggest contacting TWRA, via phone call | |

| So is there a cheaper way than the $31.25 a day? I plan on hitting Brimstone in late march and was gonna hit Royal Blue for at least one day. Can't do Royal Blue more than one day at the $31.25 daily rate.... | |

| Nope, the state of tn has it locked down, get stopped and your id doesnt match your permit, get a big fat ticket! Here is the correct info, that 25.00 fee was back in 2002. It is now not 31.25, but 30.50. http://www.rideroyalblue.com/pdf/2008_TWRA_Permit_Cost.pdfresidents only pay, 12.50 a day, you would think to promote tourism they would not want to bend the visitors over in such a way. | |
