| I've been told my hole life don't burn a bridge you might need to recross. With that said I understand where the SXS is going an I wish them the best .I have freinds that I have had for a life time. For me to tell them on this ride or what ever they aren't welcome or they don't belong is like a preacher telling the person walking to church you don't belong here. With that said after the March ride I don't belong here either .So no hard feelings its a great club thanks for the short time of being here | |

We will hate to see you go Gary. We are trying our best to explain the issues, and at the end of the day the shoe has got to fit to feel good. We understand that this will not be a good fit for some people. We just hope they understand why it's being done. Gary, I can give you many, many examples on why this is being done about guests. I will just give you one now. The members on this forum generate friendships online from distances afar. The whole idea in our group rides, is for those people to be able to get together 2 to 8 days a year (depending on how many rides they attend) to have a good time riding and socializing. Now with that being said, think of this possibility. What if this weekend coming up, when the ride was announced one member and 5 or 6 of his buddies jumped in and reserved half of the cabins at the Ashland resort, and at the end of the day we had daily members that were out in the cold with no cabins available? This is one of the many issues we face with an open invitation to rides. We need to make sure we provide the best possible riding opportunity for our daily forum members as we can on these events.

Wish you were a whole lot closer or I had more traveling money so I could play in your neck of the woods.

| So basically this all boils down to I just need to sign the waiver, sayin that I will not sue anyone if I get hurt at an Official SSXS Rider event?
If so, that sounds pretty simple to me. I'm game!

Although this is a SidexSide group, we realize that there are people out there that own an ATV and not a SidexSide that may want to sign up as a member because they are considering a SidexSide purchase in the future or to see what the SidexSide riding experience is all about. Because of that we will not deny membership to an ATV owner that wants to join the group. We will only ask that they abide by the rules of the group as written. The main thing being safety. We ask that at rides where we go to a private facility like Coal Creek, That rules the facility has for ATV's such as helmets and no riding double be followed.

| Another question; Let's say I am getting ready to leave for an Official SSXS Ride and my Mamaw shows up with her 350x Racing 3 wheeler and wants to come with me. Does she need to sign a waiver too? Is she covered by mine? | |

She will have to join the club Clay. Family means immediate family only. Lets face it, some people have hundreds of cousins.

| Admin.....after reading some of the responses to this thread, I am of the opinion that some verbiage needs to be clarified, ie. # 1: "Users" "Members" and what the differences are between the two. # 2: "Forum", "Site", "Thread".....as a "User", what can I use and participate in? As a "Member" what can I use and participate in that a "User" can not?
# 3: As a "Paid" member, what does this do for the individual, other than said member receiving a shirt.
The question has come up several times already in this thread, even though it was address by the Admin....." If I payed $20.00 last year do I have to still pay the $ 15.00 this year"?
I may have become a little redundant here, but , after reading all of the input, it appears that there are questions that need addressing, or readdressing.
I have paid the $ 15.00, signed the Application/Waiver and mailed it off. As I see it, I would have spent $15.00 for a SSxSR tee shirt just to have one! I have enjoyed the forum on a daily bases, allowing me to learn from others and as a result, have come up with different ideas. But more importantly is the friendships that have occurred. Without this group that would never have happened....that you can't buy!
Thank you to the Administrators and Moderators for all of your time and energy, making this a group of which I am proud to be a part.
P.S. 2 hours have passed since I started writing this and now that I have come back to finish, I see the Admin has addressed a number of things.......but I'm sending anyway.

Clay, if your Mamaw shows up on a three wheeler she would be consider entertament............ and yes she would definitely have to sign a waiver....

Members will have access to a members only forum, where the upcoming rides will be planned. Users will still have access to the rest of the forums on the site. There is no requirement to enjoy the forum or even plan an unofficial ride on it. You, along with all the other Original members that paid the $20.00 last year only have to send in the application to become a member. No money is required. The T-Shirt for the original members is optional and will be $12.00 if wanted. The $15.00 fee for new members with the free T-Shirt is not optional. The membership benefits are the access to members only Forum, Access to members only rides, a SSXSRiderMember name designation on the forum boards, and your T-Shirt.

| I was thinking when you ride at these parks, trails, private pastures,etc..., you signed a waiver when you paid 'to ride and be there'.... why are we signing two of them... one protects the property owner and the SXS ONE,... to protect the "THE CLUB"????? Isnt the one from the "property owner" good enough?.. if our friends arent club members, they still have to sign the permits to ride at said trails. I guess being a "GROUP", This little waiver will protect the group..(yea right).. well like in an earlier post... it depends on who has the best lawyer....
.....just a few opinions from this "fine feller".

| I think this is crazy why not have people sign a waiver when they arrive or have a yearly waiver even for those that arent members. Somebody has too much time on their hands to come up with this, to me it seems a bit racial to me. I dont see the legality in it at all, you guys dont even come to GA or FL to ride. Where's Wheelin? | |

| Man everyone is getting way too uptight over this. It's a move to solidify the club and that's it. The fee/waiver thing is just a formality that goes with anything becoming, official. Come on people, lighten up! | |

This is very simple and some folks are making it much more than it is. We made this as simple for people as possible. You click the link, print out the application, stick it in an envelope and send it off with your check for $15.00. Thats it. You, being a original member dont even need to send a check Godawgs. Racial?????? This is a membership that is open to all that want to join. Dont understand your thinking here.

| Please clarify guys.
a SSXSRiderMember name designation on the forum boards
Will I lose my current site name?
I also dont think folks are blowing it out of preportion but just stating opinions. The rules will have little affect on me since I am an original SXS peep, and am an adult who tries to use common sense and "trail etiquitte". We need this dialog and for folks to express their opinions.
An example is by moving the planned rides to a members only section to hopfully have members get the best possible chance to get lodging makes since. That is a pro that I never thought about. Maybe if reasoning like this one are passed along there may not be as much controversy.
I will ask again if these rules are set in stone or subject to revision. Will member suggestions be considered? Or does it all rest on the forum staff.
Oh yea are you guys going to check the air in my tires to make sure I am properly prepared....will you bann me or give me a spanking, if they are low. I like spankings by the way. Disclaimer: Just kidding I had a do it.

Welcome to the New Southern SXS Riders... Gunny I hope you dont speak for all the staff when you say "this debate wont change anything". Why have a question thread if this cant be discussed? That line of thinking seems very closeminded. I know you guys have put lots of thought and work into this and that is greatly appreciated. However you guys arent the only ones with some pride in this forum. I would like to think we all have a stake in this, not just a select handfull. I like others have been here since day one and like to think this is my forum too. If it is just a thread for questions like where do I send my money, then it should be stated that the forum rules will not be changed through discussions or suggestions by members. Then I will stop asking questions and posting comments if its usless to do so.
