I had the same type of thing happen 2 yrs ago where i hunt. the guy who lived on the farm (renter) gave me permission to hunt the place. written slip also. he had the sayso for years from the landowner on who to let hunt and fish the 5 ponds it was up to the renter. the land owner came out one evening saw me coming out of the woods back to my rhino parked in a dry ditch .he asked what i was doing i told him bowhunting, and showed him my signed permission slip. he says i dont allow hunting or fishing. the renter came out and asked what the problem was and the owner says noboby hunts or fishes here. the renter says you told me it was my choice since i care for the place, the owner says i changed my mind.i just let it go and apologized to both of them and havent gone back.i cant afford a wildlife violation since i am a hunter ed instructor they make a bad example of us in court when we screw up!p.s. renter was there for 25 years so it wasnt like they changed hands all the time!
