| Most state run areas in georgia now enforce the 50 inch rule, no sxs's allowed except a stock rzr. Only one i know of that can be ridden is beasley knob in blairsville. | |

| In georgia, you can ride a a couple of state run areas, like beasley knob and maybe one more not sure which one it is, you can ride the private pay areas like broadriver park in athens ga. durhamtown park off i-20 east, rocky creek in griffin and a few in south georgia. Most of us ride the areas in tennesee like coal creek also called Windrock located in oliver springs tn and up i-75 a little farther is brimstone, these are pay areas that welcome sxs and have many thousands of acres of marked trails to ride. Join the members group here and you will have a great group of folks to ride with at these areas and others. | |

| Ok, am getting a handle on this a little bit.
Looks like Beasley Knob is the closest place to play, google maps says 76 miles from Alpharetta, to Beasley Knob and approximately 1 1/2 hour drive time.
I will call the USFS folks up there tomorrow to find out the latest info. Have spent a couple hours surfing around the internet already. Simply can't figure why we can't put these machines on the roads at the Dawson Forest WMA.
That is a close one for me.

Same rules here in AL on the 50 inches. I have rode a couple of state parks here and they had lots of rhinos running them. I doubt you will find a park official out with a tape measure checking width.

Yes he did.........Locust-Stake, unless your an hour away, IMO is not worth wasting the time anyway. Durhamtown, hell yes, BRAP- Broad-River Adventure-Park is having a big shin-dig/country concert with Colt-Ford and some others May the 30th. It has been recently sold to Steve Rowlands, who has promised a new UTV track and a lot of other improvements. www.Broadriveradventurepark.com check it out.......If he can get the track a little better, I'll be there!!!!!!!!!

| I haveseen theSXS's in LOCUST STAKE, but i dont beleive they're suppose to be in there.... the stock RZR's are ok... i think.... but call the USFS just to make sure. BEASLEYS KNOB is an extreme place to go... this mountain of trails is made for jeeps and trucks and buggys...... AND SXS's..... all for 5 bux a day. TRY the BROAD RIVER 15 MILE BELOW ELBERTON FOR 25 BUX a day... nice flat park... but if you want mudd... BR has got it....... Now DURHAMTOWN IS 35 MILES FURTHER SOUTH ON THE SAME HIGHWAY (77 OR 71) near Union Point (i think) and is also a bigg pay back..... with a buffet lunch and supper and cabins etc... theres a place in commerce ga called SLOPPY JOES that caters to peple who like mudd... several DRAG STRIP TYPE MUDD HOLES bigg and small... some for trucks and the like.... and some smaller ones for UTV/ATV's... .... BUT MY BEST SUGGESTION IS TO HEAD NORTH TO OLIVER SPRINGS AND RIDE COAL CREEK/WINDROCK.... ALL KIND OF TRAILS TO RIDE AND PLENTY OF EM..... get with some of these boys here on the SXS forum and they'll show ya some good riding...... WELCOME TO THE FORUM...... | |

| Well, the good news is that Oak Ridge Tn is near where I grew up. We used to play war games there, back in th late 60's. courtesy of the US Army when I was a weekend warrior. Then I had my own "free" SxS and they even paid for the gas, repairs and heck right down to the steaks on the grill and the bullets for my M16.
Might check into that and take some relatives for a ride with me.

| Just wanted to chiime in that the 50" limit on US Forest Service trails is a national limit, as far as I know, in how they define ATVs.
Anything over 50" would be restricted to trails that allow Jeeps, rock-crawlers, etc. -- which are getting harder and harder to find.
Sadly, some states have adopted this same 50" width rule -- and applied it to state forests...

| BEASLEYS KNOB Is still available for extreme rough stuff the time being.... jeeps trucks rock krawlers SIDE BY SIDES, atvs ohvs are all still legal to ride up there...... ..... but i've heard rumor some folk are trying to shut it down too.... theres a lot of soil erosion here at the knob.... they're already shutting things up at tellico....one trail at a time...... | |
