| Called "My Yamaha" of Crossville Tn. yesterday, asking if they could get me some 1" spacers for the front of my Rhino to go with the 2" spacers that they would be putting on Friday as part of the Recall. He said he knew someone was going to want some so he went ahead & order some 3/4" spacer. I told him that I really wanted 1" to 1.5" for the front of my Rhino, & that is when he proceed to tell me that Yamaha call them spacer 2" spacers, witch meant 2" total, 1" for each wheel. I let it go at that, & told him I would get back with him.
Later when I got home, I looked at my paper work that I had received from Yamaha, & it said, "Installation of a 2" spacer on each of the rear wheels", so my question is which one is it? Are they 2" spacer for a total of 4", or are they 1" spacers for a total of 2", & has anyone else run into t

| Each spacer they install on the rear is 2"... for a total of 4" wider. I got mine installed last Thursday. They look like this: You are correct that a 1" front spacer on each side would make the front track match the rear track, after they install those spacers -- IF you are running aftermarket 5+2 offset wheels, like most ITP wheels for the Rhino. It's not necessary for them to match, but I put 1" spacers on the front of mine. Be aware, though, that even with Maier fender flares and splashguards, that they throw some mud occasionally because the front wheels stick out so far... | |

| Thanks for the info, & especially for the picture. I still have the Stock Wheels unfortunately. I had plans on upgrading them right after I bought them, & found out my wife was pregnant, so that changed a lot of my plans for my Rhino! Their still in the plan just not as soon as I wish. | |

Their still in the plan just not as soon as I wish. With the stock wheels, you could go with 2" on the front also... but I'm not sure I'd want that thick of a spacer on the front. Some folks run them, but I'd be concerned. The front hubs take a lot more abuse than the rears, because they steer and pivot. They get knocked around, in addition to the steering gear moving them around... In comparison, the rears just move up and down, and that's all...

| '1's would be the limit, IMO, on the front. 2's will kill the bearings and balls much faster and bump-steer will be increased big-time. | |

| I put the tape measure to the Rhino today. I am wider in the rear. I have 5+2 on all fours. 9" tires front 11" rear. I thought the rear was narrower then the front????
If I put those spacers on the rear I will be almost 60" wide...... I have them in the garage not installed.

| Big-R I have the same set-up as you ITP wheels 5+2 offset with Yamaha 2" in rear. If my mind serves me right it's 54" in the front and 59" in the rear. The rear hubs are closer together than the front hubs hence the reason for the wider stock rims in the rear. Maybe you have 2+5 in the front? I can't believe that an extra couple of inches added that much stability to the Rhino but it did. | |

You are adding 4". That is a lot. I measured from outside to outside of the tires. The rear was about 56" the front was 55 1/2"

I measured from outside to outside of the tires. The rear was about 56" the front was 55 1/2" Yeah, 4" is a good bit, but the Guy at the dealership said it was only 2" over all. That to me is not really worth messing with. The dealership needs to find somebody who know what they are talking about!

I measured from outside to outside of the tires. The rear was about 56" the front was 55 1/2" I guess your right I did add a total of 4". I did the spacer kit the same time I put the new rims on. I'll try like this for awhile and if I start to have issues I'll take the spacer kit off. And my front did measure close to 55 1/2".

Not sure I understand how it would put more strain on an axle in an IRS setup like a Rhino. A-arm bushings, hubs, or wheel bearings perhaps, but not the axles... can you help me understand?

| I called "My Yamaha" today & had the recall work done today. The guy I talked to over the phone said he was sorry, for the misinformation, & the work was done within a 1/2 hour. Just wish I didn't have to drive so far to get it done, but if I waited on my local dealership, in Murfreesboro TN., there is no telling how long it would have taken.
Now I've just got to order some spacers for the front. I know some of you say that 1.5" is probably too much for the front, but I still have the stock wheels, & don't know if I will ever get around to getting aftermarket wheels. So I think that is what I'm going with (the 1.5" spacers), because I'll probably keep the stockers, & spend the money on my next upgrade (roll cage, & rear seats).

| I just picked up my 09 sport edition Rhino. It will be stock until tomorrow when I replace the stock rubber with 27 inch ITP 589's. That's as long as I can stay stock. Dealership installed spacers and removed anti-sway bar (think that is what it was called) before I could take it. | |
