| Just got back from a great ride in WV. My Rhino 660 has the CDI mod but needs some more mods. It tops out at around 50mph which is OK, but could always use more top speed. The real mod I need is more hill climbing power. I went up a 250ft to 400 ft hill that was steep yesterday in L with 4wd and by the time we reached the top I had it floored going maybe 3mph. Id there a sheave/spring/weight combo that will make L a little lower geared (higher RPM for slower speed) but still give the higher top speed?
It does surprise me that I can go 30mph in Low. 20 would be fine....

| You need a big tire clutch kit. I have no personnal experience with them, but have seen them for sale on Ebay. | |

| Thursday my Rhino is getting a rejet (recommended by Wall to Wall Cycle -- they are doing it and have personal Rhino's ) ,Trinity Sheave kit with 12g rollers, and new Yamaha Belt. Hopefully this will allow it to rev past the torque peak and hold it a little better going up hills. I realize that from 12mph down the Sheave and weights will do little since the belt is at the bottom anyway.
It'll get tested this weekend in WV... (HM trails -- Indian Ridge then over to Stairsteps and Pinnacle Rock) | |

| Trinity Sheave did great this weekend. Went up same hill and it pulled good. I like the added RPM's for hill climbing and water crossings. RPM's are good.... | |

| Roamerr - I put 12g clutch weights in this past week. (basically - they are lighter than stock so it allows the clutch to engage quicker) just for background - I have a CDI, Alba Exhaust, Snorkeled air intake, Sheave, carb has been rejetted. WITH THE NEW CLUTCH WEIGHTS - I felt a noticable difference in low to mid power and didnt lose but about 3-5mph off the top. I was running in SC low country - so I cant answer for hill power - but I can tell you - I felt strong acceleration all the way through to the top!! Well worth a try if you need a lil more low end. I will let you know more as I find some hills. OH, and the beadlocks I got are KICKASS - I just feel faster!! | |
