Anyone ever used Hornaday SST shotgun slugs for deer? I shot them today in my Winchester. They seem to group really well. I would like to see how they do on a deer.
I am switching over from Remington Slugger slugs. These are lighter and are supposed to shoot flatter and give more range.

Well, I have been using slugs for years in OH. Here on base you can either use slugs or a muzzleloader. I have both, but prefer to use the slug gun for quicker follow-up shots. I have not been afield with a weapon yet, but I do plan to hunt this weekend. Next weekend (17-18) I plan to blackpowder hunt on some public land in central KY.

slugs are great , stick to 100 yd max they will drop um quick . i prefer muzzleloader in ohio pretty well given up the slug gun 1 shot 1 kill muzzleloader great to 150 yards ! went for bow yesterday saw 10 no shots ,1 nice doe about 180 lbs, and a sweet 8 pt 135 class about 225 lbs but i said let him go till next year, in ohio we have 1 buck limit and we have seen a 12 point that will go 190 class and about 260 on the hoof ! to early for the little ones !!
