| When I changed oil on me buggy, Rhino 450, 2009, the dang drain plug for the oil pan was spring loaded. I have not clue on earth why this spring is there?? I can't even remember if I've already asked this before, but have any of you guys found this on yours?? | |

| My 450 was the same, I have no idea what it's for. It makes it a pain in the ass to put back in. | |

| Im not sure but my guess would be the spring is to keep tension on the bolt to help keep it from vibrating loose ( Just a guess ) | |

| The spring is to hold the oil-strainer in. Hope it came out when you changed the oil Phil....It may have stuck up in the hole, it needs to be cleaned too..........#13 | |

M Yours has it. It has a bad habit of staying up in the motor, or ya lost it in the oil-drain pan.......

| Why would you have an oil strainer at the drain plug? | |

M Are you removing the right drain plug? There is another that will drain the oil that does not have the screen, it is a smaller plug.

M Crawl under you Rhino and look at the drain plug you have been using then look to the rear about 8-10 inches you will see a larger hole in the skid and behind it will be larger plug with a few dimples on it, this is the one that has the spring behind it. Mine is the 08 450 also.
