December ride

Okay, the topic at hand is a December ride at either Pickett, Windrock or Brimstone. I do know the weekend of the 12th of December I will be hunting blackpowder in KY. The only real available weekend for me is the one just before Christmas. I am not saying base any plans off my schedule. I am still at the mercy of the Army so my plans can change in a minute. We can start the discussion here and see where it goes.

Pickett would be a definite for me because I don't have to hit the interstate I can take my old truck, but if I went to brimstone or windrock I would have to take the envoy which is a little difficult since we had the twins.

If we are talking about the 18th,or 19th I could do that maybe Picketts or one day at Royal Blue and Brimestone
the next day????

Better wear your Orange! Thats in the most heavily hunted time of the season when guys are off work for the holidays.

I am thinking Pickett. I am heading to Brimstone in early January so I would like to maybe get another shot at Pickett. Last ride we only covered like 25 miles all day.

Gunny, I don't think gun season is in during that time in TN. Their gun season starts this weekend.

If you guys do a Pickett Ride I would like to join you guys...Pickett is my Backyard...

Looks like Picketts How does Picketts compare to Brimestone?

Is Picket State Park located north of Memphis, Tn. If this is were it is located, I think I could make this ride.

I vote Picket. We need to find a guide. If you ride the park the trails are not marked. I have heard the best riding is off the park.

I know most of the trails and overlooks at Pickett.

I don't know how much it has changed in the last year but it is pretty rough slow riding off the park while the park is pretty sandy with a few good whoops.

Pickett it is! Jody.........you and Rooster and Mud-N-Guts will be the leaders. Let's get the details ironed out.

I have a most all of the trails mapped on My GPS of Pickett I would be happy to guide you guys up there. The Rooster is taking his KQ down in December to do some work to it, but he should be back to the trails by then....

Slow is good well not that slow. As long as all fours are digging

Anyone looking at camping on the trail?

For those that don't know where Pickett is the GPS cordinate for the Parking area is N36 34.116 W84 51.345

Interstate 40 Exit 317. Head north on Hwy 127 to Jamestown.

Hwy 127 just north of Jamestown turn right on Hwy 154 towards Pickett State Park.

Approx: 6 miles you will pass the Wildwood Bed and Breakfast. 1,5 miles past the Bed and Breakfast you will see Blackhouse Mtn Road on the left. Turn Left onto Gravel road and follow it for 4.1 miles to Trailhead Parking area. Just park along side the road.

Take I-40 to Exit 317 and take Hwy. 127 north for 46 miles. Turn right on Hwy. 154 and travel another 12 miles to the park entrance.
