Anyone live in the Elkins, Parsons area of West Virginia?

A pal of mine told me that all roads into and out of that area are CLOSED due to the depth of the snow. The road from Elkins over to Parsons is said to have snow drifts up to 18 feet deep. Was told that the State Snow Plows can't get through. Might have to call out the Guard with end loaders and dump trucks to dig them out? I think the snow tally was around 24 or so inches, but with the 40-60 MPH winds and the light snow the drifting was terrible. Anyone know for sure about this? I did read in the Inter Mountain that all mail del. was stopped at noon on Friday.

This has been the worst winter in a long time.

The wife sent a email to a retired supervisor that is in Parsons. She said they have 5-6' of snow in their yard with drifts 10-12'. The Guard was there helping with snow removal. 5 of the last 6 days they have had at least 8" of snow each day. They were hoping that by Tuesday they would be able to get out of the house and get some groceries.
