| thanks for keeping this posted here too...
here is my story - I placed a bid for what I would like to pay for these ($450) max right NOW... in the fall I will be willing to pay more and win the auction - I just have a ton of stuff going on right now and would love to have a set of these - but can only part with so much. If I lose this auction - or dont meet the reserve, I completely understand.

| What do you think is a better deal? These for 630 or the Progressives for 700? | |

| my concern with these is the USEDness of them.... progressives for $700 doesnt sound toooooo bad though (assuming you are talkingaobut progressive 425 http://www.yamaharhino.com/suspension ).... I am definitely wanting the yami spork shocks over the progressives... piggy back and adjustablility - if I were considering progressives, I would look at new hd springs for my current stock shock set up. | |

| Really? I have heard that those Sport Shocks are pretty awesome. Although after seeing Todd at Hunterworks video I must say I am pretty impressed. I just want a better ride for fast trail riding. I don't really plan to jump it or anything. I just think those stockers ride like an old pickup. Hopefully these will straighten that out. | |

| anything is better than the no sport stock edition shock yami puts on...
I just think the progressive 425 are overpriced for what they are
I would rather find a not so used sport edition yami piggy back for close to teh same money....

| I've never ran the progressive shocks but the yamaha resi's are 400% better than the stockers and i've heard they are even better after the i-shock revalve and spring | |

| IN A NUTSHELL....
what I have READ is that you can achieve the same ride as the progressives with just HD springs on the stock shocks...
the sport edition piggy backs are a great upgrade and for around the same money as NEW progressives - you can find a used set of these and give yourself a much better ride...
or you can really go all out and spend $12-1400 on bilsteins, fox, or king. or balh blah blah
MANY ways to go with suspension... and dont get me started on tie rods, spindles and steering racks - the other crucial elements to a smooth fast ride!!

| I dont want to sway anyone to one shock or another....it sound like to me theSE's and the Progressives are equals. Here are the facts as I know them and how I came to the decision to buy the Progressive 425's.
The progressives are 3/16 (.187) bigger in the body that the regular stock shocks. If someone could measure the diameter, lenth of both the body and the rezi of the SE's and the lenth I can calulate volume.
The lenth of the Progressive body is 8 5/8 (8.625) The Stock shock body is 9 1/8 (9.125) Or 1/2 longer
By the outside body the progressives have 20.189 cubic inches of volume The stock shocks have 16.957
Or the progressives has 3.233 cubic inches more volume. These are tip to tip measuements of the body. No way to know inside diameter unless someone can get a blueprint. I am sure there are lots of variables I havent considered, or things that I cant get to without a complete blueprint or braking down a shock and physically measuring them.
Rebuild
I shock, will rebuild the sports for 500-700 depending on what you want
Progressive will rebuild for $79.00-179 depending on what you want.
ALL SHOCKS WEAR OUT!
The SE's with the rezis are bound to stay cooler even if the shock volume is less that the progressives just because the rezi is further away from the shock body.
I dont have experience with the SE's but what you guys have told me and what I have read on other sites. It sounds like to me the SE's would be just as good if not better than the Progressives.
The adjustability of the SE's is definatly an advantage.....
Customer service
My other issue with the SE's is "used" shocks. We have all seen the pull-offs that have no miles on them....but unless its someone I know I am always skeptical. What if you have issues with them once you purchase from an individual? I would say most of the time you are screwed.
HD version
The HD version (at no extra cost) of the Progressives for the extra weight is also an advantage.
I like most of you dont want to spend 1200 2000 for shocks.....I just cant see it. If you are going to race thats diffrent. I do give my Rhino very rough treatment but I am sure its nothing like a race where I am going to be balls out for 1-2 hours.
If you have stockers without rezies upgrade to either or. You wont be dissapointed.
