Carburetor leaking gas? Empty
PostSubject: Carburetor leaking gas?   Carburetor leaking gas? EmptyTue May 25, 2010 8:53 pm

This is just great timing. OK I just took the Rhino for a ride and could smell gas. I came back home and it was leeking gas out of the hose that comes out of the bottom of the carburetor. What is this hose for? An why is it leeking gas.

Try tapping the float bowl, the float may be sticking.

X2-Stuck or sunk float. There is a little screw right by the hose on the bottom of the bowl. Loosten it and you will drain any crap out of the bowl. Water in the bowl will also make it puke...

If it continues after you've tapped and\or drained the bowl, possibility the needle valve has some trash under it. My Rhino did this one time and I found a piece of trash about the size of a piece of pepper stuck under the needle valve. This kept the valve open and it drained out the overfill tube even though the bowl drain screw was tight. You can check this part of the carb without removing it from the machine. Just loosen the hoses and spin it upside down and remove the bowl screws. Be warned!!!! Those screws are very tight and soft, go ahead and get some ordered or replace them with allen heads if you go that far.
