Nothing to do with the starter if it died while running......If the stators putting out voltage, it will run even with a dead battery. Did you turn it off and then no start???

| ....bore 660 to 720,piston,cam,head work, valves, bore your throttle body, and hot rods stroker crank....your displacement will be around 780. i think rotax is a little much $$ for woods riding... MB, I would say it's with your starter. | |

The plug connector back in the boot has been known to break off of the plug wire. Give it a good look.

| I will but once again wouldn't the starter be cranking and it just not firing? | |

| Also, try unplugging your rectifier and see if it starts. | |

That is correct ! Even if you had a bad cdi, stator ,coil, plug or wire, neutral safety switch, selonoid, fuse, brake saftey switch or anything else when you jumped the solenoid over( ***assuming*** you had good connections ((ground and battery)) and the correct voltage) you bypassed them,it would crank (motor would turn over) but would not start if something was bad.... either the starter or engine is locked up

| i would bet its not your motor locked up. you have a wire in two or a disconnected wire. trace it from your spark plug back. have you removed the plug and left it hooked up to see if its sparking ? | |

| Never tried it but I heard the Rhino can be pulled off.....just gotta reach 7 MPH. Not that it applies here but maybe used as part of the process of elimination. | |

If you disconnect the rectifier and then it cranks, you know you have a bad stator. Not at all an expert on this, just passing info along.

Not at all an expert on this, just passing info along. Thats why I had him "jump " the seloniod.... They are several things that will keep them from cranking not an expert either but I do machanic work on the side...... and I stayed at a Holiday Inn

| did you mean stator? I thought that was the stator down there and the rectifier was under the hood? Either way I unplugged the rectifier under the hood and still same result im taking the starter off now. | |

that should have done it.... easy way is to hook a pair of jumper cables up and test it you have to make sure its grounded with the cables good ( and hold on to it good ) then touch the hot (12volts +) to the terminal it should spin out if it doesnt its bad

| You can also take to a local parts store and they will strap it on their test machine and put power to it for you,for confirmation.... My local Advance Auto does it for me... | |
