| I've been working on stuff for 44 years........Rhino starters are clutched. No plastic gears.........They cannot lock the motor down..........Now they could if they locked-up in start-mode, but from the description, he was running.... | |

If it was hung out ,had them stop v-8s I would not thought of that. Jumping the solenoid bypasses both switch and solenoid itsself.... if its a cdi, coil or something like that it would turn over but not start... Need to read what was posted !!!! YOU said a starter would not ,but too bad you wasn't able to read and comprehend what was already said !!! You need to keep working on your(stuff) TONKA toys then!!!! The starter clutch is Internal ,and when locked up it wouldn't start and it might come a part to make one quit ,but since he took the starter off and it still done nothing ,so...... I haven't worked on a starter clutch in about 4 months so I must be outdated on it then,.... use the web all you wont too to look up as much as you want but experience (making a living) always works out best ,my stuff includs drag cars ,rail cars, open wheels also 2.3 mastangs, mud bugs ,atv's,utv's motorcycles ,tractors, dozers, skidders and the list can go on and on and also I have 2 garages.......

| Is there any chance you broke your drive belt? I busted mine on my Teryx and it stopped me dead and it wouldn't turn over. The belt got bound up and keep the motor from turning over. Just a thought. | |

| Did it feel like it missed any before it shut down? We just had that happen and the problem was a rod bearing. | |

We were on the trail one day and a guy had just bought a brand new 450R. When we shut the bikes down they were running fine but when he went to start it back it was locked tight so we tried pulling him off and everytime the back tires would just slide (even on pavement) so he took it to Honda (under warrenty) to find the starter had engaged and locked the motor down so they replaced the starter and it fired right up. Not saying it is the case here because something had to cause the bike to die in the first place but it could happen..

| You need to chase battery cables FROM the battery TO the main grounds and to the power on the starter. Just because they are tight on the battery means nothing.
The Belt wont cause it, because of the wet clutch.
Have you said if you can turn the engine by hand? I did wanna read through all the kids pics to find out! (Sorry, not starting anything guys)
If you can turn the engine by hand, put your jumper cables on the engine and starter post (ground cable to the block and pos. to the pos cable end on the starter)
How many doughnuts did you do? If you were low on oil you could have starved the engine for oil, with all the oil being pushed to one side.
NOW, if you can turn the engine by hand, and putting cables straight to the starter wont turn it, you need to pull the starter.
PM me if you need some help

| Humm, well Im not sure why the engine died if its just the starter keeping it from starting. The starter itself wont, but if the clutch screwed up maybe, and could have hurt the starter.
If anyone here has ever built a 660 motor, theres alot of stuff in there that can go wrong.
Im still curious if you can turn the engine by hand
