| I do know that the front diff on my RZR and the gator have the majority of the same internal parts made by Hillard. | |

| Here's where the Gator and Kubota guys hang out, AFAIK... http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/atvs-utility-vehicles/That new Gator is NOT a bad looking/performing ride if you're satisfied with only 40+ MPH and need to work it pretty hard... but, if all you want to do is play, or wrench on it, it's probably not the machine for you. Thrash me if you'd like, but I'd certainly buy the Gator 825i before I'd buy the machine it was designed to compete with -- the Ranger 800 XP. About the same price, though not quite as much aftermarket support YET, but much higher build quality and more serious work capability, backed by a company that really backs their products... They're getting pretty good reviews: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/23/7293/Motorcycle-Article/2011-John-Deere-Gator-XUV-825i-First-Ride.aspxATV World: http://www.atv.com/manufacturers/john-deere/2011-john-deere-gator-xuv-825i-4x4-review-1798.htmlFrom ATVRiders.com - Quote :
- Overall, the John Deere Gator performed extremely well on our test ride & it would be right at home on the farm with a big appetite for working, but also has a fun side with its improved suspension & engine performance

I have to say I was completely impressed with what I was able to do with the new Gator XUV 825i. Don’t get me wrong, if I was looking for a dune UTV, a Polaris RZR S or Can-Am Commander would be higher up on my list. But that isn’t what the Gator is built for. It is built to do work, lot’s of it. Heck, the bed capacity on the Gator alone is more than a RZR S and Commander, combined!
But if I was looking for a vehicle that can haul rock, dirt, hay, tools and equipment all week long, then head for the trails on the weekend, the new Gator XUV 825i is very capable.
The Gator has a long heritage in the utility market as a workhorse. With the new 2011 XUV features, you can go have fun after after your work is done. | I've been thrown from the bed of a six wheen gator...and I've watched a four wheeled gator flip over backwards!

And we've seen pictures here of RZRs going onto their sides in gravel parking lots -- and what exactly does that prove? Some of the older Gators essentially had no suspension other than balloon tires. The 825i is a totally new machine that really has little/nothing in common with the earlier ones. It was designed specifically to target the Ranger -- not to compete with a Mule or Kubota RUV. They have quite a varied model lineup...

| The JD I saw in the commercial looked pretty nice. Bumpers, roof, man tires etc. Looked like it could compete in that category. | |
