Got my 3D printing feet wet this week.

Been wanting one for years, but did not like the prices.  I found out that XYZPrinting had a decently rated one for 500$ and with free Amazon shipping, I got one and a few filament carts, last week.  Been seeing what I can come up with with limited skills.  I haven't had a math or drafting class in 35 years.

Keep in mind that although these were made on a relatively cheap device on a medium quality setting (to save on filament while learning), these pics do not do the pieces, justice.  They "pop" in person!









What you think?  What would you have done differently?

Have had a new machine for over a month and after some mechanical issues that had me sourcing and installing a few better parts I'm back printing again.  I still often run out of talent to run the thing, but I am having a ball with it.  The SSXSR stuff is down for a total revamp since the stuff I made to print on the 2 junkers just does not print good on this one.
Anyway, a Dead Head friend of mine gave me some ideas to ponder on and after a week of drawing and calculating, below is the result. I just finished all the parts for it yesterday and it's yet to go through a sanding, smoothing and clearcoat process that I'm going to try.
