If you are going to be doing any "work" on your property, then get the wire.

The rope is much lighter. It holds up pretty well in mud and rocks. Hell that is all we ride in.

Rope is great, but keep a 10' and a 20' cable with ya with a couple shackles and you will be set. maybe a snatch block.

I've had both. I found that you don't have to worry so much when winding up rope. Cable has to be wound without overlapping or you will kink it. On snow plows, I found rope does not self lock after multiple lifting of short distances like the steel cable did.

I replaced the wire on mine with rope (from KFI) a few months back.. I like it it requires less maintenance plus it is safer if it was to break.. I have the 1/4 rope rated at 7700 I think.

I put rope on my Teryx and snapped it. But whats nice about it is you just tie it in a knot and your good to go. I think the wire is a lot better BUT I still use the rope.

I like rope much better. Just a lot easier to handle. I carry a couple straps and a snatch block. I've pulled my RZR uphill sideways with out the rope breaking. Ever been around a steel cable when it breaks? Even if its a little tougher its also more dangerous.
