Subject: Best bar length for chainsaw for trail use? Sat Jun 11, 2011 12:09 am
I'm fixing up a McCulloch Mini Mac 6 that was my Grandfather's to put on my Teryx. I've got a husky for home use, but it's a bit big for purely trail use. The Mac has a 12 bar on it now. What is too small for most trail needs? Hadn't been run in 15 years...fresh oil/gas, started right up! Gonna do a carb kit on it an a new chain or chain/bar if I go 10".

I'd stay with the 12" bar, if it were me. Like Yank, I carry a 14" one.
