Anyone happen to have a 2009-2012 Ram 1500 HEMI???

Thinking about trading in for one and was wondering what kinda MPG to expect pulling a 6x12 utility trailer and rzr? I have a dodge dakota with 4.7 rite now, and it does ok but any hill or slopes it does not like. Hoping the newer hemi can pull a small load like that without any strain and get decent mpg.

well just being honest... anything with a dodge your going to pay for fuel economy... they like the gas that is for sure. those ol' 318s are hard on fuel anyways. as for a hemi i haven't had no expereince but more power is going to just increase fuel use just my 2 cents

If your gonna stick with a gas burner and want a brute with economy then go with the Ford ecoboost. Will tow 11,600 no problem

I had a '08, 5.7 hemi, 14 to 15 is ALL it will get, run like hell but they like the gas, do not know about the newer ones

I had one also, 14 to 15 was good for it unloaded! LOL!

Before the lift and tires, my 3.7 Ford would get over 17 while pulling a 5x14 with two 500 Honda's on it. The Ecoboost would be worth looking at, but if your trailer and RZR is the heaviest thing you tow, I would look at saving some coin with the 3.7. When it was stock, mine could get 21+ unloaded and at over 300hp it's hard to tell that it's even a V-6.

New body does better on gas 09-12 . Hemi has a bunch of power tows well. Nice truck.

Just to clarify, I was talking about the 3.7 Ford, not the Dodge. There's a big difference in those two engines. LoL!

I owned an new '05 Hemi, and a new '09.

Yeap talked to a few people today that own the new hemi and was happy with what i heard about towing. The new hemi is night and day from the 345hp version. I would rather walk than drive a ford lol j/k. Think ill be bringing a Hemi ram home monday. Wife is gonna be pissed! haha

I hope you enjoy it man. I liked them both but had to get rid of the '09 before the warranty ran out, it had been in the shop several times already. That said, I would consider one when it's time to trade again, but I wouldn't buy another one without an extended warranty.

It's hard not to get one rite now with all the rebates. For a 2012 model if you trade in you get $4k off 3yr/36k bumper to bumper 5yr/100k powertrain and your 1st 4 oil changes for free. Not to mention you can get a quad cab hemi with 20" wheels for around $26k after rebates and a Regular cab for around $20k.

Sounds about right, I saw where Steve White had four door Hemi trucks at $25600. I would extend the bumper to bumper out to whatever mileage that you plan to trade at.

I went cheap when I traded last time, this one was $16588. I don't even miss the extras. LoL!

It started life looking a little different though.

Big difference, that chrome bumper was a big plus. Went and looked at a few more today and found one i liked even more. Regular cab 2wd with locker and 3.92 gear should be fun to play with when im not pulling a trailer around. Hopefully it will follow me home in the morning, ill post pics if i get it. Dont see how i can get around it now, got the fever bad for one and saturday they had me ready to sign the papers but i wanted to sleep on it.

Yeah, that setup should run pretty well! You should be able to get a good deal on that truck too, I've seen them recently for under $20k.

Yeah the one i picked out today has 20" wheels, power everything, keyless entry, built in brake controller and towing package, also they added the screen between the gauges that has the tire monitor, temp, etc... normally doesn't come on the express trucks. With all that it is still at a good price.May have em add remote start too if it isnt to expensive, always wanted one with that for those cold days.
