+ It wouldn't matter to me man what day it was. I'm not going back to that pot-holed,wore-out place!!!!!!!!! Mike and I, we got plans, rubbing hands together, A smoother, non-UTV killing kind of venue, some round-de-round, some in-field stuff, you young guys probably never heard of a T.T. race. It involves a Circle-track, but using only two corners, then you hit the infield. for a couple of nicely sloped jumps, then back out on the left-handers..........Mike owns a grading company...........Mount-up those 23's........................Saturday-Night UTV Thunder is comming to N/E Ga.......Details later. |

| They did have a race, but the turn-out was low. He (Steve) called me the week before and asked if I was comming, I said "no", he asked why, I told him why. The course sucks as far as UTV'S are concernd. It's too tight , too rough, too many trees. To me anyway, a guy who has 10k plus in his UTV don't want to bounce-off pine-trees, if he doe's, he'll break stuff and re-think ,resulting in not running the series again, just like I did. We have now found our property, a former-profitable m/x track. All the dirt and facilities are in place, we're just trying to work out a lease right now. It will be the premire short-track, T/T format in the southeast. |

| I thought the TG challenge course was great , a little unorganized but had a good time. Why would you want a track that was easy? If there is no challenge then whats the point. I have competed in 6 races and finished 3rd or better in all of them(have not broke anything). People that want to utv race should understand you race the track not your competitors. The utv racing is new and lots of bugs to work out but why would you criticize a guy(Steve) who is trying to help a sport grow. All of the races i have competed in somebody always complains, too hot,too dusty, too muddy, too many trees, too many jumps, not enough jumps. I have enjoyed all of the races, met some new friends, learned some things, just had a good time. Lots of obstacles at every race, scratch your head, think a little then deal with it. When its all over you will be proud of yourself!!!!!!!!! if you dont hit a tree.

| i think you are going to start seeing many different race track formats...
TT is going to get popular fast...
GNCC, Hare Scramble, and Rally style have proven folks can race these things - but there are MANY ways these machine can go on and in a race format - all in how you build the machine and the driver preference and finding the optimal surface to RACE.
its all about racing.
some like techy, some like wide open dunes, some like a short track,... I think you may even see some guys throw a long travel on - toe it in and run hoosiers for TT... kind of the same for atv, motorcycle, and cars....
this is just the beginning boys and we'll see over the next 5 years what type of racing stays around.

| Was not a slam on Steve, Just my opinion, that's all. Yea you'r gonna break stuff, that's racing ,and that's to be expected. When the course is soo tight both rear-wheels hit trees on both sides,in more than a few spots, (we all see the missing bark), it's just not laid-out correctly (IMO) . I do commend him for trying to give us all a venue, which I've told him and he deserves a pat-on the back, but there's always room for improvement. Guess I was a little harsh with "sucks" sorry. |

| Well after a couple of beers at night we all get a little frisky....I hope he dont go out...Yea some places were tight, but heck it was fun....Mikes(Durhamtown) course will wear you flat out. I aint going to complain about the length of his races as it favors the younger racers but at least we gotta place to try out all this money we spend... do I get a Ahmen....!!!! | |

| Just wanted to add to the discussion on TGchallenge also. or any track for that matter. We love it. As someone stated before, it's a challange. It's not about speed, it's the challange. Making the right choices and manuevering a machine. We've not broke the first thing on our machine. (Not saying we wont - hell we could blow the damn thing up next race ...lol) I know alot of people dont like the fact of having a navigator. Think about it, a good navigator will prevent alot of problems. Navigator should see that spot and warn you. Navigator is supposed to be your right hand man or woman. How can driver watch other drivers, trees, track, holes, rocks, obstacles ahead and drive all at the same time. This is not Nascar or dirt track racing, these are UTV Challenges. It is meant to be challenging and they are 2 seaters. With that being said, it is still left up to the driver to take control and drive it correctly. There is alot of people out there that could blow my doors off on a straight path. Hell, we running a stock 660 rhino. But when it comes to the woods, it's all in the driving. And we personally Love a good challenge. If we could go through there and not have to worry about problems, it would be boring as hell and not want to come back. I can ride like that everyday at the parks.
We completely understand the fact noone wants to tear up their machine. And some spots can be very challenging. We dont like the jumps at Durhamtown. A razor is fine doing that. Rhino just wants to nose dive. And nose dive is what it did during the first race and it hurt like hell. But we came back. And with jumps like that, you bound to break something. So that's probably where we could lose our ass. But that's all a part of racing. Things are going to happen. We're going to continue to race it. We just know where we have to be careful, and that's what we'll do. You have to take care of your machine. You have to know when to back off, and make it up later. That's a decision, only YOU can make.
The point is...... If it were'nt for Steve starting this, we would still be hassling around the parks, looking for something to do. So we need EVERYONE that can to join up and race these series and voice your opinions. The more that race, the more we can state our concerns. But if it looks like, everyone is going to be pissed because the track is not their way, then we'll never get anywhere and not a one of these event cordinators are ever going to make this last. It'll end before we know it. If Steve gets 15 racers here, Mike gets 13 other racers there, and Wilburns gets 17 over there, its not going to last long. But what if these 45 people got together at all the events, that's what makes a race. Bigger turnout, better competitors, better payouts, etc. Then at that time, we have 3 different tracks, different areas, different setups, and different challenges to keep things interesting.
Anyway - Just another perspective on things. Not bashing anyone - I just want this damn sport to grow and stay around and it's going to take all of us to do that. Know what I mean!
Everyone has their own style of racing they enjoy. And thats the great thing about having all these guys, Steve/Mike/Wilburns giving everyone different avenues to discover and conquer. Good Job Guys!!
As for Steve, he is open and not going anywhere any time soon. We talked to him and as it stands right now, there will be 2 races in September and 1 in October or vice/versa. The schedule should be posted soon for all the final races. And there is still talk about one of them being a race that the 1st will be right before dark and the 2nd lap around will be at night.
Hope to talk to you all soon!
