Subject: 2012 carrier bearing Thu Jul 18, 2013 8:46 am
I have a 2012 xp 900 and am having major issues with carrier bearings. The original went out at 1388 miles so after reading the rzr forum I replaced it with the toyota timken one as recommended by a lot of people on there. Just this evening that bearing went out at 1678 miles. In both cases the bearing has seized to the drive shaft causing it to blow up and completely destroy the bearing and the rubber boot around it. Does anyone have any tricks or some way to make these last longer? Any help would be appreciated.

I bought a 30mm Pillow Block bearing for $20 has a grease fitting. There was a link somewhere on the rzrforums I think the thread is under XP carrier bearing

with it ripping out the Toyota bearing too I would check the shaft and see if the weights have fallen off or something else causing it to eat them that quick. stupid question I know but did ya grease the toyota one when ya put it in?, I think they come pretty dry.

I really cant remember if we did or not. My dad put it in for me. I am definitely going to check this new one that they warrantied if I don't go with the pillow block bearing. Seems like that could be the best route to go since it has a grease fitting
