| If the fan works when you hard wire it, then maybe a bad relay. They put the relay under the seat between the skid plate and the floor board. Mud and everything else corrodes the relay and it stops working. This was bad on the 800s. I ended up moving my relay up behind the seat so that I would not have this problem. Hope this helps | |

| Don't know if you fixed it yet, But starting in 2011 they decided to put a circuit breaker under the driver side seat for the fan. Doesn't take long for it to go bad. What it does is once it corrodes it either causes the fan to run at reduced power or causes it not to cut on consistantly. So even if your fan is coming on it could still be the problem. The fan is fused so the breaker is not really needed. I would remove it and splice the connection toghther with either heat shrink but connector or solder and heat shring. If you still want a breaker inline also. Then install a new sealed one up by the fan under the hood. Under the seat above the skid panel is constantly a wet muddy mess. Its just not a good location for where we ride. | |
