| The exhaust heat shield is made of thin metal and has quite a bit of rattle and noise. Any ideas on how to quiet it down?? | |

| Someone on here addressed this before. Mine makes noise too, and they fixed theirs so it gave me the idea. But I cannot remember who it was. Search back thru the Rhino threads. | |

| I had that problem too. But it turned out it was the bed rattleing on the two forward bolts that hold the heat shield. I put some rubber pieces between the bed and the bolts just to make sure thats what it was and that stopped the rattleing. Then I cut a piece of hose and split it down the middle (the long way) so it would fit on the bed there at the factory seam.....and made sure they were in line with the bolts and then super glued them in. No more rattle. I thought it might get too hot for the rubber but to date its still good. I did use two pieces of neoprene hose...so I would suggest using something semi heat resistant. | |

| Mine was touching a hanger-bolt in the back, rattled like crazy, little Dremel-time good to go. |

| I ended up taking mine off, cleaning the frame and putting three layers of 3M double sided tape on it then poking holes in it and bolting the plate back on. NO more noise. | |

| Well the shield is metal. so after a long ride. the heat would transfer. so you are right. there is really no point. as long as mine dont rattle. i ant going to worry with it. if it does. i may pull it and see what it does. i ant sure. but if i remember right. the 08 and 09's sheild is a little thicker than the old ones. may be why it dont rattle. maybe yamaha figured this out.... | |
