Gravity (cup on top) or siphon fed (bottom)? What gun tip? What clearcoat?

well i finally started on my paint job. i'm about 1/2 way done with it....will add more pics as i finish up...
it can't believe how good this stuff looks..amazing. If someone didn't know any better, u would think this is the silver plastics that come on the SE models....honestly

well.......
i first bought some Valspar white paint, but it wasn't covering very well, so i went back to the drawing board....went to Home Depot and found some Plastic paint(rustoleum something) with a Hammer finish. The Hammer finish really covers up a bunch. Everything sanded down very well, although i did butcher up both sides of the hood where the stickers were. The plastics i bought must have been sitting outside for years and the sun just baked the stickers on there and i had a very hard time getting them off....end up takin an orbital sander to them....very very very bad idea.
anyway, i have all my silver done, now i need to add some black in. pretty much finished with the bedsides......except the pin stripe...they look really nice.

rubi-Looks great man!!!!!!!!! allright I found out the hard-way too on the stickers. I think the plastic actually "sluffs" material off in the sun, so when you remove the factory stickers a raised "projection" is still there even tho the adhesive and sticker is gone...

my old man has a HUGE shop....and it's very warm. Right now it's full of equipment, but i have my own little spot for my toys and projects :D

it's not textured like bedliner spray, but it looks as if it's somewhat rough, but is actually very smooth. Next time i head up there to finish up, i'll take a pic of the cans.

Yanks getting ichy again. That Fiberglass body keeps stareing at me in the garage. Been looking at these:

http://pc.dupont.com/HotHues/webengine/hothues/Controller/Action!_gen_call_7_swapModule?ControllerUtility.swapModule_Arg1=Color

They have at least 100 variations of these colors. My neighbor just got a new paint gun. 👅

Stay tuned. Wink
