Help !

On a couple of rides guys, with different people I have noticed alot have CB radios, or 800 mghz, or handhelds, mounted, etc.

With the big ride coming up in Brimstone, it would be nice to communicate.

What should I get?

What do most of you guys have and why?

I think a handheld would be convenient, what about the range?

What's the pros and cons for mounted vs. handheld

Any and all opinions are appreciated.

I think the FRS RADIOS work fine... you have basically a line-of-site coverage area, and have at least 14 channels to choose from and then if you want to keep other trash out of your current channel selection, you can digitize the transmit and receive...to kinda privitize the frequency. AND being handheld, you can get out and talk if need to....you cant do that
with a mounted radio. there are several.... many... different FRS radios.... they all do the same thing...you can wear head phones or earplugs with some... and some have the option of the external microphone... some have more bells and whistles than other's, but get one you can afford... or replace if needed.
