4" Chop on Dads Rex

Here are some pics I took of my hack job on dad's Kaw. I like the looks 100% better and the old man deos too.







I took 4"s out of both the front and rear bars. I drilled holes in all eight (top and bottom) ends and welded sleeves inside all four. Then I welded the cuts I make in all corners and shortened the rear cross bars and welded them back in place. It took about two hours total and an extra set of hands to set the top half back in place.

Nice. I would not mind dropping the Rhino about 3" myself. Maybe one of these days. Does your old man drive the Kawi? Maybe you could convince him to come on a ride with us sometime.

I don’t know if I'm going to chop the RZR or not. I like the factory accessories like the overhead bad, the top, and front windshield. I guess if my friends keep chopping theres I'll have to follow along

He rides with me from time to time here at home. I want to take him to Brimstone but he hasnt been able to make it yet.

Looks good Dodd. I would not chop the top of the RZR. Your head is already to close. There is lots of room to drop it on the teryx.

Your oldman looks kind of young and short I think you could lower it another foot.

they have the measurements on rhino forums to do the 4" chop, i just havent gotten brave enough to do it yet
im not sure i understand the eight holes drilled though, what did you do with them?

I drilled the holes to spot-weld the sleeve inside the stock cage. Then welded around the cuts like this.
