Clutch rollers Empty
PostSubject: Clutch rollers   Clutch rollers EmptyMon Mar 03, 2008 3:11 pm

along the lines of Roamerrs thread - but a lil different.

I havea utv powersports clutch sheave, cdi, intake, and exhaust. Plenty of top end for me (58ish on gps) BUT, I actually want more low end and mid grunt, and would be willing to sacrfice 2-4mph on the top end.

Will rollers acheive this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Robbie

just got a reply on rf.net from zoomer -thougth I would share it here, and what else I heard - just fyi.

zoomer wrote:
I run the blue spring on the driven pulley and 12g weights with my KMS sheave. I can still run 51+ in the sand and 58+ on pavement. The duner kit is available all over. It comes with 14gram weights and the blue spring. I went with 12 because I have 26" bighorns which are actually 27" tall. I wanted that extra bottom end and mid range torque.

thanks zoomer...

I just spoke with utv powersports and heard about the same...

oh, and because I am in NC, not running dunes, on 25" BIg Horns, and really just need a lil more low end and willing to sacrifice a lil top to get it - we decided that the 12g weights should be about all I need, and to forego the spring for now.

just fyi for anyone else on the east coust and curious.

thanks again.

my12g clutch weights were less than $35 I think....

they have givein me a good bit of my low end back and still not putting too much extra pressure on the entire unit that some lower weights and or sprigs can do...but these drives can last for decades with ease...
