| Friday night I got a call about this ride .It turned out to be an annual under ground event. There were 100's of people in jeep's, rock crawlers, ATV,s, dirt bikes and, SXS's. It ran across several tracts of land in southern Tennessee. I believe in Lawrence county. The group I was with entered at Flat rock went through a logging area with lots of deep skidder trails, then moved on down what they called the goat trail. the name said it all lots of stair steeped rocks. After several creek crossings we ended up in Iron gap where there are several large rock formations with some of the baddest jeep's and crawlers you could see were putting on the show. What a day . Here are some pic's and vid's this is my girl friend riding with our friend Nathan in his rock buggy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjktVXlNwLw here are a couple of others on what they call Everest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dombo68vfE8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYcYtrpszBA |

| I used to ride that area quite a bit in the late 90's through about 2001. It used to be open to riding, but now is mostly closed unless you know someone. All the land there is private property and the area got overused and abused. Somewhere, I have GPS tracks of quite a few really great trails in that area that are now off-limits.
Nice to see that there is still some riding there.

Nice to see that there is still some riding there. Yeah it's all private. The road in from Iron gap is a public road to the old cemetery. I have friends with land in there so riding with them is no problem. However from flat rock the land owners are closing it down. really a shame but your right abut the abuse. The worst is the trash... if you can carry it in then you got room to carry it out!! On the flat rock side the POLICE had set up checking coolers and passing out D.W.I's and some one said they giving trespass tickets as well. I'm not sure I saw them but they didn"t see me ..........I'm like a ghost. When I hit the road it was in the opposite direction of them! I was parked at a friends about 5miles away. 60 in a 35 all the way |

I lived in Lewisburg, TN from '97 - 01 and did a lot of Jeep riding with Middle Tennessee Trail Runners. I also had land access through relationships with logging contractors since I worked for a paper company. A lot of stories there, but as you were touching on, a few folks who didn't give a rip ended up making it much more difficult to ride in the area.

| Great videos! And an important message as well, When using any trail system remember...we're stewards for our children. If we abuse the right they won't get a chance to enjoy them at all! The Colonel, | |
