Mine is an 09 450 and all this while I was thinking it was dirty gas and fuel filters, it now seems to be a bad fuel pump. Plenty of vacuum from the engine, but very little if any on the filter side of the fuel pump. Also looks to me like the 450 and the 660 take the same pump.

Check all the lines. I had a vent line pinched and thought it was the pump. May also clean out your fuel tank.

New fuel pump this morning (Yamaha $70) and the buggy is running like a new one! Hell it almost is a new one! 2009 with only 700 miles on it. Anyhow I sort of blasted the guys at this dealership over it. Told them I knew it wasn't their fault but they were behind the counter and were going to listen to me bitch for a little while. 30 day warranty is all you get on the new pump and that burned me bad. If I hadn't been over a barrel I'd have ordered the Weller that Yank told me about, but had 5 acres of grass that had to get mowed and rain forecast every day the rest of this week. Anyhow, it's taken longer to type this post than it did to change out. South Seattle had them for $46 too! Oh well, live and learn. But this WILL be the last Yamaha fuel pump she gets. Thanks guys for all your info and support. Big help to a guy that don't know what the hell he's doin! roflmao roflmao roflmao thatsright

Not exactly sure it was fuel pump, but changing the pump and the fuel filter solved it. Happened on my first day at Windrock on vacation....

After the embarassment of being pulled out of the woods by a PoPo, I bought both a pump and filters, and am now carrying the old pump as a spare, in addition to extra filters...

True that! After burning through 3 of them i just went with the high flow and still have a stock one in the tool box just in case.

Doesen't Weller Racing have an eletric fuel pump for the 660's? I would feel 10 times better with an electric pump vs. a vacuum pump.
