Prior service Military sound off

Was in from 82 til 94. Flew helicopters for the 1/147th.

Primary a/c was Ah-1/S Cobra... it was friggen awesome!

There is nothing on earth like flying NOE over the right terrain, except maybe flipping that master arm switch to ARM and unleashing holy hell!

Miss the hell out of the flying, but not the politics.

I was Fire Control (weapons) nothing like going to an island for target practice and unleasing hell.

U.S. Army (diabled vet) I've was stationed in Gemany, Arkansas, New Jersy, Hawaii, up state New York and Saudi (DS/DS). I was an Forward Observer (11B), Truck driver (64C) and Personell (75B). But in saudi I got a crash course in warehousing (WH supervisor, don't know MOS).

63S Heavy wheeled vehicle mechanic
88M Truck driver
When deployed, I was TC for a 8 man security team.

My wife is also a U.S. Army disabled vet.

Was in the Navy from 93-97 in the nuclear field as an electrician. Was on the USS Eisenhower.(CVN 69)

I didn,t serve but my dad was a WW 2 vet and son in law was in this last war.I want to thank all of you that served and help keep us free from the bottom of my heart,god bless you all.

USMC , MARINE AIR BASE 24, KANEOHE BAY HAWAII , AIRCRAFT RECOVERY  79 TO 83  yes it was a very hard duty station   Loved working the flight line and all the different aircraft coming in,very awesome time.Yes we would hit Honolulu on the weekends and girl watch

Air Force 1968 - 1973. Radar & 20mm Gatling gun service on B-52 H bomber. SAC Air Force base near Sault St Marie, Michigan.
Visited Minot AFB on October 1, 2014. Was able to see B-52 H, tail # 047! This was a plane I worked on 1968! Brought back many memories.

Congrats. I was in from 1976 to 1980 @ Chanute AFB Illinois.

Devil Dog here. I was in the Marines from 75 to 81, I was stationed at Camp Lejeune as a forward observer for artillery and a radio operator.

Army 71 and 72. Ft Bragg NC in the 82nd.

US Navy SeaBee's 83 - 89, Equipment operator NMCB4.

Served 1984-88

I served on the USS Sunfish (SSN-649) a fast attack submarine out of Charleston SC and Norfolk VA as an interior communications technician, 1985-1989.

A good bunch of dudes.

Thanks for your service. I only made it to Chanute AFB to do my time. I wouldn't have done it different if I had a choice. Learned a lot of discipline and what it takes to get ahead without having any formal education or sucking up. Persistence, level head and take the opportunities that are in front of you, even if it means leaving some buddies behind that choose to not better themselves.
