I was in the military from 89 to 94. Served 3 and half years in the army reserves then placed on active duty in 92. I was a Scout. Good to see a thread devoted to the military. My heart goes out to all those who have served or are serving in the military.

Marines 89-95.

USMC 72-76 Paris Island, KY Guard 81-90, Army reserve 2002-2004 (1 year active duty for war), 2008 til its over.
Mech infantry Platoon Sgt, currently Army reserves 497 Combat Sustainment Support Battalion with allert order for deployment (unit created 11 months ago).

101st Airborne,75th Rangers. Took basic at Fort Knox, AIT at Fort Gordon, Jump School at Fort Benning, supposedly Jungle Training at Fort Polk. Vietnam 1966-1970. Spent 24 months in Nam that I would like to forget. Hope you all understand. A friend of mine from Nam wrote a song about our time in Nam. Please check it out :

US Navy 81-86, Boiler Technician, All over the Med. on a supply ship. Two combat ribbons.
US Army Reserves 86-92, 11BHX Infantry, Weapons Instructor, Attended DI school, but got out right after that.
WV Army National Guard, Came back in last year. Reclassed to 63B, Wheeled Mechanic, wearing Staff Sergeant, Squad leader A&A Platoon, 3664th Maintenance Co.
Going for the retirment this time.
Work for the Guard rebuilding HUMMV's over at the Point Pleasant, WV armory.
May be going over to Iraq early next year. Will find out pretty soon.

Army from 89-93. Fort Dix for basic, Aberdeen Proving Grounds for AIT, 25months in Hanua (sp?) Germany with a 6 month break to go play in the sand. Came back to Fort Stewart to finish up the 4 year. I was a 63G-Fuel And Electrical Systems Repairer. I was a REMF!

Saw a lot of the world and much of it that I wish I hadn't seen. I've listened to "Taps" for far too many friends. I hope that I never have to hear it again till it's played over me. And I ain't in any hurry for that. I'd like to thank all who are serving or have served this wonderful Country of ours. May her flag fly high, free, & proud forever!

U.S. Navy 90-94 Operation Desert Storm on U.S.S. Newport News SSN-750 Fast Attack Sub stationed in Norfolk, VA

Did Boot at Resort I mean Recruit Training Command, Orlando, FL. Hotter than a firecracker finished in July. A School and Nuclear Training also in Orlando. Prototype school in Charleston, SC then to duty in Norfolk.

Very nice resume there. BTW, I am jealous of the Beckley, WV thing. I was trying to get on as the S3 for the recruiting battalion a few months back but my branch would not release me. They said my two choices were go to a PRT team or to the CCC and then to another deploying unit. I said no thanks......I will stay here at FT Campbell. At least I know I will get 12 months before I deploy again.

I didnt go into the USMC till I was 25....got tired of the same ole bump and grind as a civilian and decided I needed some excitement in my life. The recruiter told me I had brass balls the size of bowling balls for wanting to go in at 25!
