| Whats everyone's feedback on them? Here's what they say about them
Tapered rear wheel bearing kit for all Yamaha Rhinos. This kit will convert your Rhino from the factory ball bearing setup to far superior tapered roller bearings.
If you own a Yamaha Rhino you know that the factory ball bearings are not up to task of handling the abuse that the rest of the machine take. Some owners have reported they replaced up to ten sets of wheel bearings during the time they owned their Rhino. The standard ball bearings can not handle the side loading and weight that a Rhino puts on them. Add hard driving, heavier and higher offset aftermarket wheels, heavier and larger tires, or wheel spacers on top of this and a standard ball bearing will last as little as a couple hundred miles in a rhino. Standard ball bearings are a poor choice for this application and replacing them so often is no easy task.
To make matters worse, the stock setup is not easily serviceable. Unlike the factory ball bearings these kits are 100% serviceable, use bearings specifically made to handle radial AND axial loads, and best of all can be removed without any pounding, pressing, or pulling. They literally will just fall out when you remove your seals. The. Because these bearings can be removed so easily, they can be cleaned, repacked with grease and reinstalled as many times as desired.
So what do you guys think?

| The thing about tapered bearings, is that they need a specific preload on them. Im not sure if they will be any better than stock ball bearings or not. I guess you are gonna find out!! | |

| I dont know. Tough call.
Heres a tip though, if you are careful, you can pick the seal out of a ball bearing, and pack it with grease just the same. We used to do this on sport quads rear axle bearings. They would last prolly twice as long by doing so.
Im a fan of tapered bearings, I just dont know if you can properly preload the bearing and keep the hub attached to the Rhino.

| Hello, I thought Id introduce myself and offer to answer any questions about this kit. I am the seller and have been getting A LOT of questions but I expected that. As far as the preload goes, it does require drilling your axle for use with a castle nut and pin. We have ran them with just plain old cotter pins with no issues. If you wanted added security you could use an hard pin also.
Craig_C said about packing the ball bearings and he is correct. You can repack them and it will help, but they will never last under extreme conditions. Its not so much the grease or lack of grease that kills the ball bearings. Its the load they see that ball bearings were not designed to handle. As I said in the description of this kit, wheel spacers, hard driving, and large aggressive mud tires make an already overloaded bearing give out even faster.

Yes, The seals go in the same location as the factory set up. Inner and outer.

| Who has the bearings in? Any issues with installation? I have been on the fence on these just due to having to drill a hole in the axle, but i'm about to fall off. | |
