Yea I guess I did, whole new argument....LOL What's funny is dieselpower magazine did a shootout bewteen a few model years back the Allison and Ford's Torqueshift and the Torqueshift won the comparison......they weren't testing the engines in this one just the tranny's......
Fords transmission is pretty dang tough....but it, like the Allison, cant be "built" to do what the Dodge trans can take. The Allison, by design, destroy themselfs when power is cranked up. They cant shift fast enough, thus have "gear bind" and burn out clutches and break other parts......Now.....stock for stock, Allison all the way, then Ford, then Dodge.
I saw an add in diesel power mag I think it's AST? or something like that anyway their color is purple...lol but they will built the Allison, Torqueshift or Dodge auto tranny's to handle like 1000hp and they give a 5 yr. unlimited mileage warranty with it......I'd hate to see what those tranny's cost.

All depends on what parts you put in...but 8-10k. I built an auto for my Dodge, Billet input, Billet output, triple disc billet convertor, red alto clutches with Kolene steels, billet shift servos and levers, aftermarket valve body with manual valve body kit (I went from a 6-speed to auto) for WAY less than that. You pay alot extra for the warranty. Most of the power holding capabilities come from the valve body and torque convertor.

From the same guy that raced the RZR 800::::: The T4 may weigh 1600lbs, and it may only have 8" of travel, but in my view it rides VERY well (thats what all the passengers say too!). Yeah it may not be the type of suspension you want for racing, but the T4 has more than enough shock to keep you smiling!
Over the last two weekends I've ridden over 50miles of trails with 2 Passengers (3 riders total). I rode everything from smooth trails with whoops, deep off camber washout, Big Steep Rocky climbs & descents, and rocky river beds. No matter what terrain it is the passengers have nothing but nice things to say about the Teryx4.
All my passengers have years of experience with quads so they certainly know what a ruff ride feels like. I also had some Polaris RZR owners ride with me for a couple hours and they had nothing but good things to say "wow and can't believe it rides so smooth" they'd keep saying. & "man these seats are nice!". EVERYONE loves the T4 seats! So far every single person who has taken a ride commented on how comfortable the seats are!
Over my 50 miles of trail riding I bet I looked at my tires more than half a dozen times... because (no joke) it was riding so smooth over the rocks I thought that I might be loosing air due to a tire puncture or something. A few times I asked my friends if the tires were all ok on their side (by the 3rd time they just laughed at me)
Kawasaki has certainly brought a new contender to the table for everyone. With a full load of people you'd be hard pressed to have more fun out on the trails than with a Teryx4! ...Im love'N it!

well YEAH! but lets compare apples to apples....749cc to 760cc is fairly fair......53hp vs 53hp is fairley fair.......53hp vs 88hp? I'm not starting a another pissing contest, just sharing info like you said I should Ronnie. Kawasaki simply has a great woods 4 seater on the market now.... And I know you're just giving a hard time, it's all good......BTW I need to give you some cash next time your around to turn my name orange......

I understand the comparison. I was just giving you a hard time. However, my point is that I wish other manufactures would take the leap into the sport market.
The Rex 4 is a great machine and it would be something I would consider for the family. But, I have my XP to ride when the kids aren't with me. Many people want both in one machine. More wheel travel lower center of gravity.
We have had this conversation over and over. I know it is not up to you. I wish it was............. It just disappoints me that the only true sport machine I have to chose is built by Polaris.

Totally discounted the Wildcat. Proves my point that Polaris Sport market will be hard to crack.

Yeah Yank your right. I did forget about the Cat. I am very interested in testing it out. You just don't see many out on the trails. But I do think they are onto something.
Sorry Cat my bad!!!!

Actually my company could easily crack the Polaris Sport market, if you knew what I know...it's all about liability and risk.

I know they could and that is what's so upsetting! I would love to have a Kawasaki!!!!!!!
I don't understand what would be such a risk. They have a 750 engine, the Polaris is a 760. Like I said it is all about wheel travel and lower center of gravity.

At the speeds we travel here on the East Coast you only use 5-6 inches of travel. everyone take your mileage and divide it by your hours or vise versa. 90% of people's average speed is 15mph on these trails......when they see that data and that research you see the point....thats what I deal with daily. Kawasaki Heavy Industries is overall is HUGE compared to Polaris, Polaris is a powersports only company Kawasaki's powersports division is a tiny part of the overall company robotics, shipbuilding, heavy equipment, etc. KHI makes 250mph passenger trains, working on 300 + mph trains.......in our powersports, we have the highest HP watercraft on the market the jet ski 300X 300 hp......we have the ZX-14 this years hyperbike shootout winner.......we have a 200hp sport bike in euorpean trim in the ZX-10....the KX450 motocross bike has been dominate the last 2 years, nobody can touch Villopoto.......but in the ATV/SxS dept. there are different people making different choices. If you want to compare the size of Polaris and Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan, drop a marble in a 5 gallon bucket...Polaris would be the marble, KHI would be the 5 gallon bucket. thats what I meant by the Sport market could very easily be cracked.

Stakk, since you're a Kawi rep, maybe you can help. I've been considering a Teryx 4. Is there any place to rent or try out a T4 for a day? I've always rode quads, but I'm considering a UTV so my family could ride with me too.

LOL, I'm actually just a lowly R&D guy, I'm not sure where located, but I would start with your local dealer, alot of dealers will pull a new model unit off the floor to use as a demo unit and then sell it later in the year as such it got miles on it but has never been titled, customer can save alot of money that way.....And frankly you would be money ahead to see whether you like it or not to see it it's for you even offer the dealer $50-$100 bucks to try one out?
