We have not been told that from the town itself. However, We were contacted this morning to be warned that this will be happening. So I guess we will see.

Just my opinion, but sounds like people with influence have decided which way they want to see this shake out. I find it funny that with all the riding down in that area, day or night, even on public roads, the only place I've been confronted by local police or "security" has been at the parking lot at the foot of Trail 3. I know I have talked with at least two clubs up in WV and Ohio that had planned to travel to Brimstone this year. After they read all of this BS they want nothing to do with Brimstone. Word of mouth and Internet obviously reach a helluva lot farther than just Scott County.

If the poo getting that childish down their. I say we should just not patronize any of the business in town and avoid town. Who knows they may have the Cop looking for any excuse to give us a hard time because we aren't staying at the Evil Empire Resport and have an Evil Empire Resort pass. 2cents But if you do still have a pass by all means, donuts in the middle of town is probably allowed. muhaha

I'd assume this will make the local newspaper down there. Anyone have a link to the newspaper's site?

Well, I am finally home from my trip. I hate typing on the phone so here I go with what i think about the whole thing.....

There are two sides to every story. I have heard enough of both sides to know that both are at fault here. I love Trails End and Marla and Steve. I also know Erika. Both Brimstone and Trails End have been great to me and my Club. However, this has gone to far. Both sides need to sit down and work this out. If not I can not support Brimstone at all. They have the bigger hand here and they are using it to the fullest. That is one thing I do not agree with.

One thing That I am afraid of is the new off duty officer stopping any group staying with Trails End. They will harass anyone not riding or staying with the "Brimstone approved places". If this happens there will be repercussions that Brimstone will not like.

This is the just of it all and I know both sides are watching this thread. I hope you read and listen to what I am about to say. There is always two sides to every story and some where in between is the truth. I hope both parties find a truth they can live with so the riders can continue to enjoy Brimstone. If not, I fear Brimstone will fall along with Trails End and Huntsville.

Very well put "O Fearless Leader" however I must admit that the shennigans Brimstone is directing specifically at Trails End elicits an emotional response from me and even though I agree with your statement completely. I could never tolerate a Bully. On a personal level or even a Corporate level. I believe I could support a "Boycott Brimstone" T-shirt campaign.

Valid points. I am not about "boycotting Brimstone", but I don't like the fact that it seems like the weight and influence are being used against a "smaller kid". At least that is how it appears to be happening. I hate to say this, but conflicts and egos are what ruined Evarts. I would sure hate to see the same thing happen to Brimstone. By far my destination of choice would be TN, but this whole debacle has me not wanting to even bother going there this year. I won't buy a permit from Brimstone unless this is worked out. But I don't want to be riding in fear of being hassled by law enforcement if I choose to ride from Trails End. I sure hope an amicable solution can be found.

Jim,

I feel the same way. I did address it in my original post. This club is boycotting Brimstone until this is resolved.

Guys I would not worry about the off duty law enforcement harassing us. I have not heard that this is a fact. I do know that the sheriff is a local elected official. I know the local people are upset and he would be creating carrier suicide if he let his off duty officers do this. The same goes for the town of Oneida the mayor is elected. 2cents

IM all for supporting TRAILS END to the fullest! But people can always ride in other areas of Tenn, Kentucky and the Hatfield/Mccoy trails in West Virginia, at least there (Hatfield/Mccoy) the whole system decides whats going on and they really work together. i guess there they realize that everyone can earn a living and draw THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of off road people into the state. Seems like that works the best since H/M trails are the largest trail system anywhere. The local people there know that it brings millions of dollars a year in revenue!!!!!!!! Your helmet fees at H/M are $25 per year in state and $50 per year out of state per person. Those fees i think are reasonable and not over priced like brimstones just my 2 cents. Brimstone must be stupid to start a war like this!!!!! Its just plain petty greed to single out any business especially TRAILS END! They have been there from the start. I think the boycott brimstone tee is the best idea, Also supporting TRAILS END is something we we should do from now on regardless of now this turns out! Brimstone and the surrounding towns need to realize this and FAST, before they alienate more people and permanently hurt the riding there in that area. Seems like a waste of energy to go to this extreme to put a few dollars in your pocket. Or that the local government would let it happen unless they are trying to fill their pockets along with brimstone. If thats the case they should be voted out!!

Gonna give it to the middle of this week to see if there is any signs of a resolution. If not, I know of my pass 3-5 more that will be asking for a refund on our 2013 passes.

hey folks i guess i am the newest member of the chat and i might get booted cause i dont have a sxs i run a jeep rock crawler, but i live in scott county where brimstone is located, i have run these mtns for about 32 yrs now, i have helped cut some of the trails in the mtns and what mark love and brimstone rec is trying to do burns my Butt i dont know how much money or what mark love knows on the higher ups in the county but he gets away with murder in this county he is on the huntsville board of alderman and his daughter was the head of the chamber of commerice so they get to do pretty much what they want i guess. but personally i am tired of the BS i been running these mtns since i was about 5 or 6 yrs old and be dammed if i am going to stop now and i will not buy a brimstone permit i will however have a twra permit. they have made it to where we cannot be on brimstone rec property without 1 million dollars libality insurance in a 4 wheel drive or rail bug and then there is the deal with trails end which totally ticks me off i totally support trails end campgrounds and will do what ever is needed to help them out and try to put mark love and brimstone in there place..
