OEM Air Filter

Subject: OEM Air Filter Thu Jul 09, 2009 9:35 am

The manuals show removing one end cap of the metal 'cage' to slip the foam off. I have never been able to do that and just force it over one of the ends.
Can someone tell me how to get the end cap off that supposedly comes off?

the silver cap will come off. no tricks to it.
my be get a block of wood and a hammer and tap it off. scratch

Yep, it's tight but will come off. Just tap it with a hammer all the way around to knock it off. Stretching that filter over the end will ruin it.

DD, I get mine on the edge of the workbench and snatch it down catching the top, it will pop right off.

DD I used to use the handle of the hammer and tapped it from the inside of the cage
