| A 550fi on the 700 chassis would be SWEET... There's a real niche there, at the low end of the sport/utility market that has the Rhino 450, Ranger 400, and the 550 Prowler... More offroad capable than the Mules, Gators, Kubotas, etc, but still "affordable"... With the Rhino's proven reliability, they could really do well there, if they'd promote it... plus it would be a great way to get people to buy their 1st Rhino, then upsell them later to a higher performance machine. I've never understood why Yamaha didn't market the 450 more... | |

Not true at all. In fact they've announced a new white 700 model for 2010... They're expected to announce the redesigned 2011 model in a few months (February, perhaps)....

I dont know were you got your info from, but i have heard nothing about an 2010 and they sure dont have any on there web site. Every other company has there 2010s out already. if yamaha is going to put out an 10 they are going to be way behind. Then again in the last few year yamaha has been way behind in everything.

| I will believe it when I see it. Right now I think it is a line of . Dont get me wrong I am not trying to start a piss and moan contest. I have just heard from all of my people that there will be no 2010 and the rhino will be totally redesigned for 2011. I was also told the reason for no 2010 was they have way to many 2009s that didnt sell. Just what I have been hearing. | |

| I'll raise the flag on that one -- I've heard stories of people having problems finding a good choice of 2009 700s. Supposedly there's lots of 450s still in inventory, but 700s are starting to run short... | |

| No 550 soon, too many 450's still on the warehouse floors. 700's is it for a long while, maybe forever from yamaha, small changes here and there but nothing major.
In the next year your gonna see a new legislation changing all laws on utv's- one set for vehicles 30 m.p.h. and under , and another set for those over 30 m.p.h.
It will change the way all manufactuers make their machines.
Sadly this industry is being crippled by lawyers and law suits, what we all have now, is very possibly gonna be as good as it gets......................
For some, if you remember the 3 wheeler and all it's problems and what happened to it and why .............. utv's will make there way down this same path as well.
Plus you having rising cost and economy. A normal machine is costing $10-$15,000 before accessories. IMO and in several reps for Yamaha opinions, this industry could very well be topped out right now.
