| SO I've had my 07 rhino since 08 when i bought it used . Ive grown fond of the rhino but i turned it into a 4 seater family vehicle. I now want my own UTV and was thinking of a RZR. I am looking at an 08 with 37 hrs on it, for 8k . Now because i am a Rhino owner and Ive come form the rhino forums where there is a lot of RZR bashing. i wanna know your thoughts. what should I watch out for? is there one year preferred over another ? are there more problems with an 08 that there arent with the other years? Let me know your thoughts. | |

| You should get some really good info to your questions here on this site. There are number of guys here that have had both and one guy that I can think of that owns both now. I need my Rhino for deer season, hauling firewood and doing various chores. If I never did anything but trail ride, I'd have to look right hard at a new "S". But for my current needs the Rhino is near perfect for me. | |

| The 08 being the first year, had a inadequate air filter system that caused a lot of them in dusty areas to ingest dirt, polaris responded with across the board additional 18 months of warranty for any rzr that might have a problem from this. Thats a total of 24 months from the date the rzr was sold new. This problem was fixed on the 09 up models even though some will argue otherwise. Also the rzr has had many upgrades to the motor and trans and roll cage and other things. If it was me i would try and find a 09 or better buy a new or like new 010 model. But if this is the one you want and If the 08s motor is in good shape, you will need to upgrade the air filter system to 09/010 3 clip airbox lid, new bigger polaris filter and change out the throttle body boot to the new flex model if these upgrades have not already been done. Jfyi, you can get a new 010 at ritchie powersports in athens Tn. for 9883.00 | |

| I have an RV and bobcat for sale. when one of those sells. Im gonna be looking hard for a RZR. I think I will get a new one. since its not much more. I dont think I will get the S though. I think i can get he same power or more with better handling if I put the parts on myself. Am I right on thinking this way? | |

| Nothing wrong with a standard rzr, lots of after market parts to choose from to enhance it to the level you want. | |

| Gunny is right about all the problems of the 08. However, you can have a compression test and a leek down test done. If they turn how fine then you might have a good machine. The air intake system needs to be change on the 08 if it is still stock (about $260.00). I would try and get the guy down some more $7000 to $7500. That would leave you more money for mods if you go the route.
Disclaimer- I will never own a RZR!!!!! my wife might though

| Buy a new one don't buy someone elses problems. Get a fresh start and start making your own problems. It's more fun that way plus it has a warrenty. | |

Disclamer- I will never own a RZR!!!!! my wife might though My buddy just sold his 08 RZR with 450 miles on it. It had full skids ,Terracross tire, ITP 108 rims, front and rear bumpers, and the motor was still good , and 2"lift and Highlifter springs. $7200 and that was with the remaned of the extended warrenty. Know mind you, he sold it because he didn't trust it, because something broke everytime he took it out. So all im saying even if it looks like a good deal be CAREFULL.

| We pick on po po a lot about them being junk. But to be honest we I know many RZRs that ride with us that never have any problems. The oil burning is a bum deal. But really you can Big Bore out the 08 and get ride of the crap stock parts and have one hell of a machine.
The RZR is by far the funnest buggy on the market.

| this is the one im thinking of looking at, ive goona back on a couple emails. his family owns all Polaris and this one was his kids who went away to school. he is saying his price is firm. I'm thinking i can finance a new one and keep my cash for mods :) After ore reading , I liking the S a little better. i think the 3k difference would be in just getting long travel for it http://lancaster.craigslist.org/rvs/1553957962.html | |

| lot of extras on it, winch, tire set and other stuff = about12-1400 bucks, like i said if the motors not dirty it should be a good deal, easy to check. take a flashlight and pull the airbox lid above left rear tire pull out the filter and shine the light down the intake tube, if its dirty walk away if its clean and shinny then buy it. | |

| Just made a couple inquiries to a couple different dealerships to see what they can do . Also filled out an app for credit, even though i hate the thought of a monthly payment. | |

If you want to save 1166.00 on a S take a drive to athens tn, exit 49 on I-75 to Ritchie Powersports. They can finance you thru polaristar credit same as other polaris dealers. A standard rzr is under 10K, S is 12,833.00

I only have to sell 2 things first. I was heart broken leaving without a new toy , But shes right. I have a 4 car garage and it is overfilled. I hate it when shes right
