How about a Ride??? (Windrock Jan 21, 22 & 23)

Big R - I believe MattX and MKRZR are coming on Saturday. MKRZR had some major damage done at Windrock on New Years Eve. I would put them on the Maybe List. Sounds like a GODD ride is forming.

A buddy of mine is renting the bottom of the windrock Lodge. We are just going to park our cargo trailer there. I'd also be interested in where and when everyone is going to meet up.

I will be down Friday ready to ride by 12. We usually meet at the top of the parking lot across from trail 22.

Saturday we will meet at the same spot. Would like to hit the trails at 10 sharp.

I know there is a lot of BSing around before the ride. It usually makes us hit the trails late. I am the worse one of us all about this . However, lets try and be ready to hit the trails at 10 Saturday morning. Then once we get in the woods there will be plenty of time to fellowship with each other at stop points.

Also, please WAIT on the buggy behind you at each intersection before you turn. If you can't see a machine then wait until you do. I promise you that I will not make a turn without a person behind me. If each person does the same we will not loose anyone along the way. However, if you come to an intersection and you don't know which way to turn STOP there and wait. Someone will come back and get you.

I'm always surprise by how many riders don't pay attention to the people behind them...with a caravan like we'll have, that could be a problem since we're liable to traverse multiple intersections with this long string of bikes.

Ronnie, might I add something to this post....
If you have a 2-way radio please bring it and make sure it's on the correct channel as everyone!!
We had a guy on a ride one time get on the wrong channel from our group and he was asking the people who answered which way to go, well he followed where they told him, and ended up meeting them at the windmills, while we were waiting at the start of 53 for him.......good times!!

I will also be bringing my brother and his son they are going to join the club when we get there they have their applications ready to turn in. So that will make two more to the list. Are the trails pretty rough or what? We are going to bring our RV do we need to go ahead and reserve a spot online or what?

Just call 865-435-1251 (new campground up on the hill) or
865-435-3939 for the old campground in the valley to make arrangements for your RV.

I'm in the old one in the valley. It's a few bucks cheaper and I've always had good luck there. The new one is only a year old or so, but I've not stayed in it.

Give them a call and you'll be all set.

Windrock Park is the new one on the hill Dean. That's where Big-R is staying.

I thought about getting us a set of Radios just because phones don't work half the time.. What radio's do you guys use? I know homedepot here sells several different flavors of Motorola Talk abouts.. Are these pretty good? Only about 55 bucks for a pair..

Most of the hand helds are about the samething.

Ill be bringing my radios for sure might bring some extra just in case. I should be arriving friday morning around 9 or 10. Now that i think about it i should of got that cabin thursday night and just drove up then and got to sleep in live and learn i guess! And corey yeah I was talking about 57!

Well that sucks but we will see you at H/M. Moreover, I am sure we will be riding in your neck of the woods before the H/M ride.
