| I have a gatormade 6x12 utility trailer with ramp gate and i have always thought when pulling it that it seems heavier than it should be. The other day i let someone borrow it and they said the same thing compared to other trailers just like it. It is light enough i can move it around by hand and ive jacked it up to make sure the wheels turn easy. I had an older heavier build tandem axle 6x12 before it and it seemed light while pulling. Also how much drag would a 7x12 or 7x14 enclosed have on the interstate. Really thinking hard on going to an enclosed trailer. | |

| It's the gate. What a drag. Mine is the same way. It actually pulls better loaded. If you get a v nose and stay with the 7 ft width it will seem lighter, it's all about the aero package. Lol | |

| With the ranger on my open trailer rite now as high as it sits and with the front windshield, it feels like im pulling a parachute lol. Don't understand why my trailer feels so much heavier than other trailers just like it. Really wanting an enclosed so we can camp in it also. | |

| An enclosed is even more of a parachute. I like mine but I only use it once a year. I may be interested in selling it though. | |

| do you really think its the drop down wire gate making it feel that way, i have a gatormade 7 X 16 ft tandem axle and it pulls great!! and i do agree an enclosed trailer is like a parachute for sure | |

| I have 14' gator made with the gate. Not much difference in pulling it empty or loaded. If Chipper can chime in I know he pulls his with gate off and think its a lot better. | |

| I think there is something else wrong with mine, i know the gate creates drag but for some reason mine pulls heavier than other trailers just like it. Can't figure out what it is. | |

| I have a 7X16 enclosed with a V nose. It pulls well. My F-150 w/4.6l struggled on steep grades, My F-350 diesel pulled it like it was nothing. My dodge 1500 w/ 5.7 does well with it if I take it easy. You do notice when there is a strong cross wind or you have a head wind when you driving. Me and the wife put cabinets, electric, mini fridge, A/C and sleep on a queen air bed when we get were we're going. I'm sure it would pull even better without the extras But the wife like them. Just If you get an enclosed trailer make sure you get the extra height. I bought the standard height (6'6") because at the time we quads not a SXS. So keep that in mind when looking. I have a 5-6" chopped cage and it fits fine now without rubbing. We like the set up opposed to a tent but still wish we had a bathroom. | |

| Still haven't got to check the axle for squareness, but i did notice the tires are wearing weird. The centers look fine, but the outter tread on both tires is wearing quickly and un even. | |

| Bacon, I pull the same trailer without issue, tires are wearing evenly. Make sure your axle hasn't been bent. I am pulling mine with a v6 4runner. | |

| Have you checked the alignment of the axles also? Even if you bent the axle some how they are very simple to change out.. Not that expensive either.. You can get one with brakes for around 300 bucks. check and make sure the spring hangers are right.. You would be surprised how far off they can be from the factory.. One of my tandem axle trailers had one hanger that was over 1/2" off. Doesn't sound like much but you are talking tire alignment. | |

Check your tire s air pressure, when they are low on air they will wear on the outside of the tread and can definitely make a trailer pull heavy. | |
