It is Clay. I know it don't seem right. But it works!!! Will it do 70MPH on the trailer down the highway?? Probably not, it would implode.....But for trail-riding it has worked great so-far.!! I finished the doors today and rode-around in short-sleeves....... I know "Ya redneck sob" that won't work......... One of my local buds has a Ranger with a chino-Vinyl complete enclosure, doors and all.. it's the coldest, flappinst, draftyist, $400.00 POS I've ever seen... I was out to prove a point... My 160.00 complete-cab enclosure with a very high R-factor kills his....No it's not a 3500.00 Curtis-Cab, but it don't weigh 350# either. Mine whole cab probably weights 30 pounds....

| I would not have thought that it would hold up at 20mph much less 50 or would I have thought that you could get paint to stick to it. Now that both of those questions have been answered it only leaves one more for me,,,,,,,how will it react with fiberglass resin? If you can cover the foam with felt or fleece and coat it with resin then it should be as tough as most materials commonly used for this type of application. I recently built a speaker box and am not real happy with the weight so starting from scratch with the foam board might address some of this issue. I think it is worth a shot to buy a sheet and try it now. | |

You could not use Fiber-Glass resin on it. It would melt. But you CAN use Epoxy-Resin. This is sorta my test-set, If it goes as good as it has so-far,I'm gonna lay some mat and epoxy, or like you said fleece or some porous material and make me a good, solid, set. Most boat stores sell several different flavors of Epoxies. It is not as brittle as Fiber-Glass either. It is a little harder to finish/sand tho.
